June 1
iCarly – Season 3
In this third season of the rebooted family show, Carly makes her singing debut, defeats a famous TV chef in a cooking competition, and reunites two lost lovers.
This has more mature content than the original show which debuted in 2007, but as it’s targeted at the people who watched the series when it first aired, who have also matured, this is hardly surprising.
If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)
Based on the novel by James Baldwin and directed by Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), this impassioned drama stars Kiki Lane as a woman who fights to clear her fiance’s name when he is falsely imprisoned. Stephan James and Regina King also star in this heart-wrenching story of racial inequality and one woman’s fight for justice.
June 2
Love Allways
Dating shows are nothing new – our streaming services are full of them – but this one is slightly different to the norm. Love Allways follows Lexi Paloma, a pansexual bachelorette, as she narrows down a pool of contestants of all genders in her attempt to find her one true love! Throughout the series, she is assisted by two professional relationship gurus, Anthony Recenello and Spicy Mari, who also act as mentors to Lexi’s potential suitors.
Margaux (2022)
When a group of young people rent a smart house for a partying weekend, their fun and games are interrupted by Margaux, the house’s super-advanced AI system, which has sinister designs for each of them. Susan Bennet, the original voice of Siri, voices the malicious AI. Perhaps now is the time to delete Siri from your phones, just in case…

Joe Pickett – Season 2
It’s a case of the hunter being the hunted in the second season of this Western drama when Joe gets involved in a murder investigation after several hunters go missing. Joe must track down the killer responsible while also tackling anti-hunting activists who see the murders as just punishment for the crimes these men committed on the local wildlife. Here’s the official synopsis:
“In season two, Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett (Michael Dorman) discovers a hunter murdered in the mountains and realizes this is just one of a series of gruesome murders. To solve the case and catch the killer, Joe must navigate a radical anti-hunting activist, a ghoulish set of twins living off the grid and his own tortured past. Joe and his wife, Marybeth (Julianna Guill), discover that the murdered men weren’t as innocent as they seemed. But when they dig too deep, they are forced to go on the run and fight for their very lives.”

Warrior Women with Lupita Nyong’o
In Black Panther, actress Lupita Nyong’o starred as Nakia, a spy for Wakanda’s all-female army the Dora Milaje. She’s not fighting anybody in this new documentary but she does journeys across Benin in West Africa to learn about the African female fighters known as the Agoji, whose rich culture and complex history have often been misunderstood by outsiders.
June 14
One Thousand Years of Slavery – Season 1
Emmy Award-winning actor Courtney B. Vance narrates this 4-part documentary which explores the history of slavery and its impact on individuals and societies around the world.
The Color of Care
Oprah Winfrey executive produced this shocking documentary, originally broadcast on the Smithsonian Channel, which demonstrates how people of color suffer from systemically substandard healthcare in the United States. The origins of this systemic inequity, which still exists today, are traced back to practices that first emerged during the time of slavery in the US.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season 2
The first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was widely loved by many because of the way it captured the feel of the original Star Trek series. Of course, this new show has much better special effects, as befits a sci-fi series made in this modern era, but it doesn’t rely on these within its storytelling. Most of the cast returns for season 2 but you can expect a few new faces, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Carol Kane who joins the crew as a no-nonsense engineer.
Plotwise, not a lot is known about this season, but you can expect the crew of the Starship Enterprise to boldly go where no man has gone before! Well, in terms of the series chronology that is, as Captain Kirks and Picard and a whole bunch of other starship captains explored the galaxy years after Pike and his crew embarked on their space exploration missions.
There’s Something Wrong with the Children (2022)
There’s something wrong with this Blumhouse movie! Two couples on a weekend trip suspect something is wrong with their kids when they start behaving strangely after coming into contact with a mysterious hole in the nearby woods. The premise for this horror tale is fine but the final result is disappointingly formulaic and uninteresting. Despite being poorly received, 1984’s Children Of the Corn was a better ‘creepy kids’ movie than this tired effort that has nothing new to offer audiences.
June 25
The Gold
Hugh Bonneville (Paddington), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), and Dominic Cooper (Preacher) star in this 80-set miniseries which is inspired by the iconic Brinks-Mat Robbery in 1983 which, at the time, was the biggest robbery in history.
June 28
My True Crime Story – Season 1
Narrated by American rapper Remy Ma, this true crime docuseries features first-person accounts from ordinary people who, for one reason or another, got themselves caught up in the world of crime. Stories in this 8-episode season include cases of multi-million dollar jewelry heists, international smuggling, and drug-trafficking.
