Insidious: The Red Door (2023)

Release Date: November 4

It’s a surprise this latest installment in the Insidious franchise wasn’t made available on Netflix in time for Halloween! Still, if you have yet to see this sequel and you’re a fan of these movies, you now have the opportunity to find out what new horrors await the Lambert family.

“In Insidious: The Red Door, the original cast from the horror franchise is back for the final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga, with Patrick Wilson (also making his directorial debut), Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne, and Andrew Astor. To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh and a college-aged Dalton must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.” (source)

The Killer (2023)

Release Date: November 10

Early reviews suggest this new crime thriller starring Michael Fassbender as an assassin is another big hit for director David Fincher.

“A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.” (source)

Best. Christmas. Ever! (2023)

Release Date: November 16

Heather Graham, Jason Biggs, and Brandy Norwood star in this festive romance that is sure to warm your heart during the chilly season.

“Every Christmas, without fail, Jackie sends a boastful holiday newsletter that makes her old college friend Charlotte feel like a lump of coal. When a twist of fate lands Charlotte, her husband Rob, and their family on Jackie and her husband Valentino’s snowy doorstep just days before Christmas, Charlotte seizes the opportunity to prove that her old friend’s “perfect” life can’t possibly be that perfect. But in her overzealous attempt to expose Jackie, Charlotte nearly ruins Christmas for both families and must team up with her old friend to reassemble the pieces.” (source)

Rustin (2023)

Release Date: November 17

Colman Domingo gives a powerful performance as gay civil rights activist Bernard Rustin in this rousing true-life drama.

“The architect of 1963’s momentous March on Washington, Bayard Rustin was one of the greatest activists and organizers the world has ever known. He challenged authority, never apologized for who he was, what he believed, or who he desired. And he did not back down. He made history, and in turn, he was forgotten.

Directed by DGA Award and five-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe and starring Emmy Award winner Colman Domingo, Rustin shines a long overdue spotlight on the extraordinary man who, alongside giants like the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., Adam Clayton Powell Jr., and Ella Baker, dared to imagine a different world, and inspired a movement in a march toward freedom.” (source)

Leo (2023)

Release Date: November 21

Adam Sandler in a new Netflix movie isn’t always a guarantee of a good time as anybody who has seen The Ridiculous Six and The Do Over will tell you. This new animated movie written and voice-acted by the comedy star will hopefully be one of his better movies for the streaming service.

“A 74-year-old lizard named Leo and his turtle friend decide to escape from the terrarium of a Florida school classroom where they have been living for decades.” (source)

Squid Game: The Challenge – Season 1

Release Date: November 22

If you’re going to star in a game show, you might want to choose a show that isn’t based on a series that featured the deaths of its plentiful contestants! Of course, we aren’t expecting anybody to die in this real-life version of the South Korean thriller, so you shouldn’t be too afraid to watch it!

“Though the reality version of Squid Game isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line: 456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, Netflix’s largest cash prize in reality television history. Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies and timely betrayals to follow. ” (source)

Family Switch (2023)

Release Date: November 30

Body switch comedies used to be all the rage back in the 80s and 90s but they seemed to go out of fashion…until now! Jennifer Garner and Emma Myers are the mom and daughter who switch bodies in this new comedy movie.

“When a chance encounter with an astrological reader causes the Walkers to wake up to a full body switch, can they unite to land a promotion, college interview, record deal and soccer tryout?” (source)
