Max (formerly known as HBO Max) is jam-packed with great titles this month, with blockbuster movies, exciting new shows, and fascinating documentaries making their debut on the streaming service.

A Scent Of Time – Season 1

Release Date: November 3

This highly anticipated series blends romance and mystery as it takes viewers on an unforgettable journey through time. The story revolves around a woman who one day wakes up and discovers she has been transported into the period novel she has been reading. 


“A hard-working young woman in the new era wakes up and finds that she has transmigrated into a novel she stayed up reading all night. Fine, what’s done is done except she’s also in the body of a vicious supporting role.

Now a character in a novel, the modern-day girl has to cope with having a traitor father and a playboy brother. What’s worse, “she” has already done all sorts of bad things in the earlier parts of the story, so her intentions to ensure that her character stays alive till the end can only be described as a long and difficult road.” (source)

Albert Brooks: Defending My Life (HBO Original)

Release Date: November 11

The star of such movies as Lost in America, Broadcast News, and Defending Your Life, is the subject of this new documentary from Stand By Me director Rob Reiner.

Little Richard: I Am Everything (2023)

Release Date: November 23

The one-of-a-kind rock ‘n’ roll icon who shaped the world of music is given center stage in this insightful documentary.

The Garden: Commune Or Cult (Discovery Channel)

Release Date: November 27

A wonderland free of societal rules? Or a dangerous community that is more than meets the eye? This new documentary opens the gateway to The Garden. 


“On 22 acres of backcountry land in the American South lies The Garden – a community that lives by its own laws, free from the pressures of modern society. They maintain an open-door policy to anyone seeking to join their ranks, but new people must submit to an initiation period. Some barely last a week, others are forced to leave, and a chosen few will call The Garden home for good.
