Check out this month’s highlights below and then keep scrolling to take a look at some of the other titles landing on Hulu this July.

Please note: This list is correct at the time of writing but Hulu might add or remove titles over the coming weeks.

July 1

Death On The Nile (2022)

Kenneth Branagh returns as Hercule Poirot in this new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s famous novel. This time around, the Belgian sleuth is on a vacation in Egypt but there is no time for rest and relaxation as it’s not long before he has to investigate another murder. Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, and Russell Brand are among the suspects in this follow-up to Murder On The Orient Express.

Poirot will be back on the big screen this September in A Haunting In Venice.

High Heat (2022)

Dubbed “Die Hard in a kitchen” by one movie critic, this action thriller stars Olga Kurylenko as a chef who has more to worry about than a deflated souffle when the Mafia arrives to burn down her restaurant.

See How They Run (2022)

Hercule Poirot isn’t around for this murder mystery (he’s taking a much-needed vacation on the river Nile), but world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) are on hand to work out whodunnit when a cast member of the West End play The Mousetrap is found murdered backstage.

This isn’t quite as amusing or gripping as it could have been but Ronan saves the movie with her spirited performance.

July 7

The Ashley Madison Affair (2023)

In 2015, Ashley Madison, the popular dating site for married adulterers, came under threat when the employees at the website’s Toronto headquarters were given a warning by a  hacking group calling themselves the Impact Team. The staff of this morally reprehensible site were told to “Shut down Ashley Madison immediately (or) we will release all customer records, profiles, sexual fantasies… real names and addresses.”

They didn’t comply and much to the horror of the site owners and their customers, the hackers made good on their threats and released 10 gigabytes of user details onto the Dark Web.

With exclusive footage and firsthand interviews, this new documentary explores the events leading up to and after this scandalous data breach.

The Quiet Girl (2022)

Colm Bairéad’s Irish-language film tells the story of Cait, a 9-year-old girl who is neglected at home and bullied by her peers at school. One summer, salvation arrives in the form of her mother’s cousin, Eibhlin, who takes Cait away to her home in the countryside where this “quiet girl” experiences happiness and comes out of her shell.

This is a deeply moving film that is guaranteed to make you shed a tear during its heartbreaking end.

July 9

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead – Season 1

Animated comedy series about Akira Tendou, a joyless worker at a foreign finance company, who starts to feel more alive when a horde of zombies takes over his city.

A live-action movie based on the Japanese manga that inspired this new series is in the works at Netflix.

July 11

Betrayal: The Perfect Husband (2023)

Based on the true-crime podcast of the same name, this documentary tells the story of Jenifer Faison, a successful reality television producer who discovered her husband, Spencer Herron, a beloved high school teacher, was involved in affairs and the sexual assault of some of his teenage students.

The doc features interviews with the women involved with Herron and the one student who put an end to his reign of sexual improprieties.

July 13

The Jewel Thief (2023)

Gerald Blanchard was one of the most creative, calculating and accomplished criminal masterminds in modern history.

This documentary tells the story of the man who sought fame and fortune through a life of crime and details the investigation of the two Winnipeg detectives who tracked him around the globe.

Pretty Problems (2022)

Married couple Jack (Michael Tennant) and Lindsay (Britt Rentschler) are fed up with their unremarkable life. They get the chance to broaden their horizons when they are invited to a boozy weekend away in the Wine Country by an affluent friend of Lindsay’s.  But what follows is an unhinged weekend that puts their relationship to the test.

This class comedy is high on bubbly but short on laughs according to most movie critics.

July 14

A Little White Lie (2023)

Michael Shannon stars as a handyman living in New York who is invited to a university to deliver a keynote address when he is mistakenly recognized as a famous reclusive writer.

Kate Hudson and Don Johnson also star in this ‘Fish out of the Water’ comedy.

Vesper (2022)

13-year-old Vesper (Raffiella Chapman) and her paralyzed father struggle to survive when the Earth’s ecosystem collapses. But when the girl meets a mysterious woman with a secret, Vesper is forced to use her wits, strengths and bio-hacking abilities to fight for the possibility of a future.

Eddie Marsan co-stars as Vesper’s cruel uncle in this slow-paced but riveting apocalyptic thriller.

July 15

Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game (2022)

Mike Faist (West Side Story) stars as Roger Sharpe, the real-life pinball wizard who, in 1976, was instrumental in overturning New York City’s 35-year-old ban on pinball machines. Crystal Reed stars as the woman Sharpe fell in love with during his crusade to save his beloved past-time.

July 19

Justified: City Primeval – Season 1

Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as Marshal Raylan Givens in this sequel series to Justified.

A chance encounter on a Florida highway leads Givens to Detroit where he crosses paths with a violent sociopath named Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman (Boyd Holbrook).

Based on Elmore Leonard’s novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit,” this 8-part series launches with the first two episodes on this date.

If You Wish Upon Me – Season 1

The storyline of this 2022 K-drama has been inspired by a true account of the Make-a-Wish Foundation in the Netherlands. The story revolves around a young man (Ji Chang-wook) with a troubled past who volunteers at a hospice and joins Team Genie, a group that seeks to fulfil the final wishes of the hospice patients.

July 21

Space Oddity (2022)

After tragic events cause him to rethink his life, a young man named Alex (Kyle Allen) decides to leave Earth for a life on Mars. But when he meets an insurance agent named Daisy (Alexandra Shipp), he is finally given a reason to stick around. Madeline Brewer, Simon Helberg, and Kevin Bacon also star in this thought-provoking rom-com about one man’s attempts to move on with his life after a terrible tragedy.

July 22

Praise Petey – Season 1

Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy lends her voice to this new animated comedy about Petey, a New York City “it” girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. Her life starts to improve when she is given the opportunity to revamp her father’s failing cult and become a better leader than he was.

July 24

My Happy Ending (2023)

Andie MacDowell, Miriam Margoyles, Sally Phillips, and Tamsin Greig star in this poignant ensemble comedy-drama about a Hollywood starlet who finds herself stuck in a British hospital room with three other women after she is diagnosed with cancer.

July 27

Mother Undercover – Season 1

This new docuseries tells the stories of four courageous women who go to extraordinary lengths to protect their children. Each mother faces a parent’s worst nightmare, including kidnapping and suicide, in this series that sees them go undercover to take matters into their own hands.

July 28

The Donor Party (2023)

When Jaclyn tells her friends she wants a baby, they find a possible way to get her pregnant. How? Well, rather than encouraging her to explore her surrogacy or adoption options, they hatch a plan to get her pregnant at one of their friend’s birthday parties!

Marlin Akerman, Jerry O’ Connell and Rob Cordrroy are among the cast of this morally dubious (and not very good) comedy.

God’s Country (2022)

Thandie Newton stars in this acclaimed thriller as a college professor who is drawn into a battle of wills after she catches two hunters trespassing on her property.

The Lair (2022)

Neil Marshall directs this sci-fi thriller about a Royal Air Force pilot named Kate Sinclair who seeks refuge in an abandoned underground bunker after being shot down over Afghanistan. Unfortunately, she’s not alone as she soon discovers when she comes face to face with man-made creatures known as the Ravagers who are desperate for human flesh!

After the misguided Hellboy reboot, this is another career low for Marshall who fails to capture the tension or scares of his previous horror movies, Dog Soldiers and The Descent.
