Movies And Shows Coming To Disney+ USA In June 2023

This month on Disney+, James Cameron takes us back to the world of Pandora, we learn more about the man who created Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and Nick Fury is given his own TV show.

Check out this month’s highlights below and then keep scrolling to take a look at some of the other titles landing on Disney+ USA this June.

Please note: This list is correct at the time of writing but titles may be added (or removed) over the coming weeks.

June 7

Avatar: Way Of Water (2022)

James Cameron returns to Pandora and reaches new heights (and depths) in a movie that once again utilizes the best in special effects technology to showcase the fantastical world he has created. In this sequel, Jake Sully and his family are forced to seek refuge with the aquatic Metkayina clan when an old threat returns to disrupt their paradise existence.

This long-awaited sequel to 2009’s Avatar was well-received upon its release, mainly because of the stunning special effects, but the story is a bit of a damp squib as it’s basically a retread of the original movie’s plotline. You may be too swept up in Cameron’s vision to care about the story’s familiarity but it’s a little disappointing the director couldn’t come up with a narrative that is as groundbreaking as the visual effects.

June 9

Flamin’ Hot (2023)

Flamin’ Hot tells the story of Richard Montañez, the Frito Lay janitor who came up with the idea of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, the snack that became an iconic global pop-culture phenomenon. Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) directs this inspirational true-story drama with Ambulance star Jesse Garcia in the lead role.

Hailey’s On It – Season 1

Animated kids show about Hailey Banks, a resourceful teenager who pushes herself outside of her comfort zone to complete a long list of challenging (and impractical) tasks in order to save the world.

Joining him on his mission are his loyal crew, which includes Roxy, a rottweiler with a can-do attitude, Tank, a snack-obsessed mastiff, and Luna, a comically spontaneous sheepdog!

Stan Lee

Stan Lee is sadly no longer with us but thanks to the comic book movies that bear the Marvel name, his name will never be forgotten. Without him, the MCU would never have existed, and in this celebratory documentary, the story of his life, career and legacy is told using his own words and personal archival material.

Pretty Freekin Scary – Season 1

Based on the book series by Chris P. Flesh, this new children’s TV series follows the adventures of Frankie Ripp, a 14-year-old girl who dies but then comes back to the land of the living after a heated debate with the Grim Reaper in the Underworld. But there’s a catch! She has to navigate life at Middle School with her two Underworld guardians, Pretty and Scary!

Set in present-day MCU, this new series from Marvel Studios centres on Nick Fury who embarks on a race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save the Earth. “This war is one I have to fight alone,” Fury announces in the trailer, which isn’t strictly true as he has Maria Hill, Everett Ross, and Skrull Talos fighting alongside him in his battle to protect humanity.
