Movies and Shows coming to Disney+ UK in November 2023

Christmas is coming early to Disney+ with the second season of The Santa Clauses and new family movie Dashing Through The Snow.

Quiz Lady

Release Date: November 3

Awkwafina, Holland Taylor, and Will Ferrell star in this promising new comedy about two estranged siblings who work together to pay off their mother’s debts. Expect all kinds of comical hijinks to ensue.


“Anne, a tightly wound game-show-obsessed woman, must come together with her chaotic sister Jenny in order to help pay off their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they will have to set off on a cross-country journey in order to get the money they need; in order to do so, they will have to tap into Anne’s skill set by turning her into the game show champion she was always meant to be.” (source)

The Santa Clauses – Season 2

Release Date: November 8

Ordinary life didn’t suit Scott Calvin so he’s back at the North Pole with his family. But while he might be donning Santa’s famous suit again, this second season suggests he might still be thinking about retiring! The first two episodes fall down our chimneys on this date. 


“In the series’ sophomore season, the Calvin family is back at the North Pole, as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after his retirement plans were thwarted when he failed to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal (Austin Kane) to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus.” (source)

Culprits – Season 1

Release Date: November 8

Kirby, Ned Dennehy, and  Nathan Stewart-Jarrett star in this new comedy crime thriller that (judging by the trailer) promises to be a lot of fun. 


“Where most crime stories end: after a high-stakes heist, when the crew of elite criminals have gone their separate ways and have tried to leave their old lives behind. Past and present collide when a ruthless assassin starts targeting them one by one. Why are they being stalked, who is behind the mayhem, and will they be able to find one another in time to protect themselves and the people they love?” (source)

A Murder at the End of the World – Limited Series

Release Date: November 14

The OA creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij return to television with this new murder mystery series starring Emma Corrin as a Gen Z amateur sleuth. This junior Miss Marple could be the next best detective on our television screens. 


“Darby and 11 other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must fight to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests before the killer takes another life.” (source)

Dashing Through The Snow (2023)

Release Date: November 17

Teyonah Parris, Ludacris, Mary Lynn Rajskub, and Lil Rel Howery star in this early festive treat about a father and daughter who meet a man who is dressed suspiciously like Santa Claus. 


“A divorced social worker for the Atlanta police department despises Christmas due to a painful childhood memory. When sent on a call while spending Christmas Eve with his daughter, he inadvertently evokes the wrath of a local politician but meets a man who helps him understand the joy and magic of Christmas.” (source)

Faraway Downs – Limited Series

Release Date: November 26

Fans of Baz Luhrman’s 2008 movie Australia will want to tune into this six-episode miniseries which is an expanded version of his original epic using footage shot from that movie. 


“An English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley who travels halfway across the world to confront her wayward husband and sell an unusual asset: a million-acre cattle ranch in the Australian Outback called ‘Faraway Downs’. Following the death of her husband, a ruthless Australian cattle baron, King Carney, plots to take her land and she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle drover to protect her ranch.

The sweeping adventure romance is explored through the eyes of young Nullah, a bi-racial Indigenous Australian child caught up in the government’s draconian racial policy now referred to as the “Stolen Generations.” Together the trio experiences four life-altering years, a love affair between Lady Ashley and the Drover, and the unavoidable impact of World War II on Northern Australia.” (source)

The Artful Dodger – Season 1

Release Date: November 29

Oliver Twist fans who have been craving for more retellings of the classic Dickens story may be interested in this new TV series that expands on the original tale to focus on The Artful Dodger when he is all grown up. Thomas Brodie Sangster takes the lead role. 


“An irreverent follow-up to Dickens’ Oliver Twist exploring the adult double life of Charles Dickens’ famous prince of thieves. Set in 1850’s Australia, in the lively colony of Port Victory, we meet Jack Dawkins, The Artful Dodger, who’s transferred his fast fingers as a pickpocket to the nimble skilled fingers of a surgeon.

Dodger’s past returns to haunt him with the arrival of Fagin, luring him back into a world of crime.
