Recent movies Empire Of Light and Boston Strangler are making their streaming debut on Disney+ this month. Also streaming is the third season of The Mandalorian, the second season of the brilliant workplace comedy, Abbott Elementary, and a new concert performance from Bono and The Edge.

1st March
Empire Of Light (2022)
Set in an English seaside town in the 1980s, this moving drama from director Sam Mendes is about the power of human connection. Olivia Colman stars as Hilary, a cinema manager struggling with bipolar disorder, who begins to bond with Stephen (Michael Ward), a new employee, who has struggles of his own.
The Mandalorian: Season 3 Episode 1
Pedro Pascal (The Last Of Us) is reprising his role as Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, and to the relief of fans the galaxy over, he will be reuniting with Baby Yoda (or Grogu if that’s the name you prefer) in this third season of the popular Star Wars spin-off. Little is known about the plotline at the time of writing but judging by the trailer, Din will be returning to his home planet of Mandalore to (in his words) “be forgiven of my transgressions.”
Abbott Elementary: Season 2
The first season of this workplace comedy was widely praised for its sharp sense of humour and comical characters and the second season thankfully offers more of the same. It focuses on a group of dedicated and passionate teachers (and one rather self-obsessed headteacher) who work together to support the students of their underfunded Philadelphia public school, despite the odds that are stacked against them.
Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur – Episodes 1-5
You’ve heard of Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America, but are you familiar with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur? Based on two lesser known characters from Marvel Comics, this animated series sees them work together to protect the residents of the Lower East Side of New York from danger.
3rd March
Finding Michael
In 1999, Michael Matthews became the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest. But three hours after he reached the summit, the 22-year-old disappeared, and his body was never found. In this emotionally charged documentary, his brother, Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, heads to Everest with a world-class mountain climber to recover his brother’s body.
10th March
UnPrisoned: Season 1
Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo star in this new comedy series about a perfectionist relationship therapist whose life is turned upside down when her father comes to live with her after leaving prison.
17th March
Boston Strangler (2023)
This new movie is based on the true story of Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley), a reporter for the Record-American newspaper, who put her life at risk when investigating the murders of the infamous Boston Strangler. Carrie Coon, Alessandro Nivola, and David Dastmalchian also star in this disturbing thriller.
Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, with Dave Letterman
Interview maestro Dave Letterman hangs out with Bono and The Edge in their hometown of Dublin and delves into their 45-year friendship. This docu-special will also feature a concert performance by the famous musicians.

Up Here: Season 1
This musical romantic comedy series, by the writer of Dear Evan Hansen, is set in New York City in 1999 and tells the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple who discover the biggest obstacle to finding happiness together could be themselves.
29th March
Kindred: Season 1
After moving to Los Angeles to establish a life close to her only living relative, a young Black woman is violently pulled back through time to a plantation in the antebellum South of the 19th century. This adaptation of the daring sci-fi novel by Octavia E. Butler had mixed reviews upon release and despite the potential for a second season, the show has now been cancelled.
