Movies And Shows Coming To Apple TV+ In May 2023

Several new series arrive on Apple TV+ this month, including the dystopian sci-fi-thriller Silo and the comedy-drama High Desert. Also streaming this month is a documentary about Back To The Future star Michael J Fox and the second season of the groundbreaking documentary series, Prehistoric Planet.

Harriet the Spy – Season 2

The animated adaption of the iconic children’s novel by Louise Fitzhugh returns. What will the amateur writer be getting up to this time? All episodes arrive at once so fans of Harriet will be able to binge-watch all of her adventures on this date.

Silo – Season 1

Rebecca Ferguson stars in this 10-episode drama from acclaimed screenwriter Graham Yost (Band of Brothers). Based on the bestselling trilogy of dystopian novels by Hugh Howey, this exciting new sci-fi series focuses on the last remaining people on Earth who are forced to live underground to protect themselves from the toxic atmosphere outside. After the bunker’s residents begin to die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Ferguson) uncovers shocking truths about the place she calls home.

Still: A Michael J Fox Movie (2023)

The inspirational story of Michael J Fox is recounted by the actor himself in this documentary which sheds light on his rise to fame and the Parkinson’s disease diagnosis that threatened to derail his career.

City on Fire – Season 1

Based on the novel by Garth Risk Hallberg, this 8-part drama follows the investigation into the shooting of an NYU student named Samantha Yeung who is revealed to be the connection between a series of citywide fires and a wealthy uptown real estate family who are fraying under the strain of their many secrets.

High Desert – Season 1

Patricia Arquette stars in this 8-part comedy-drama as a woman with a checkered past who decides to become a private investigator in the small desert of Yucca Valley, California, following the death of her beloved mother.

May 22

Prehistoric Planet – Season 2

The ground-breaking documentary returns, using state-of-the-art technology to bring to life the dinosaurs that roamed the Earth 66 million years ago. David Attenborough, whose brother Richard brought dinos back to life in the 1993 movie Jurassic Park, narrates this 5-episode spectacle.

May 24

Platonic – Season 1

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne star as the platonic pair of former best friends who reconnect years after falling out. According to the synopsis, their ‘newfound friendship destabilizes their lives in hilarious ways,’ so expect lots of belly laughs from this 10-episode series.
