Please note: This list is correct at the time of writing but release dates could change.
February 8
Helldivers 2
Platforms: PC, PS5
Helldivers 2 is a multiplayer co-op shooter for up to 4 players which will pit you against an alien scourge wreaking havoc on your home planet. You step into the shoes of a Helldiver (no surprises there), an elite class of soldier “whose mission is to spread peace, liberty and Managed Democracy using the biggest, baddest and most explosive tools in the galaxy.” (source)
Do you have what it takes to save your planet? Of course you do, so suit up this February, take aim and stick it to the man…erm… the aliens!
February 13
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X)
From the studio that brought you Life is Strange and Vampyr comes this action RPG in which you take on the role of the Banishers, experienced spirit hunters who are entrusted with lifting a malevolent curse. Your choices matter in this period title as you seek to scourge the evil affecting a community of settlers in 1695 New England.
There are two characters to control – Red and Antea – each one possessing their own unique abilities to thwart any ethereal attacks. If you aren’t “afraid of no ghosts,” this game may be worth your while this February.
February 14
Tomb Raider Remastered Collection
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X
Play the original three Tomb Raider games in this remastered collection which contains all expansions and secret levels. Relive the moment Lara took on a T-Rex, enjoy once again a boat ride along the Venice canals, and return to Lara’s mansion to lock the butler in the refrigerator!
We would have liked a full-on remake of the original Tomb Raider titles but despite the lack of graphical fidelity in this remaster, these games are still worth a play for any fans of the PS1 classics.
February 16
Mario vs Donkey Kong
Platforms: Switch
Donkey Kong has stolen the Mini-Marios! To get them back, you must run, jump, and backflip your way across a series of levels and avoid all the obstacles that stand in your way.
With newly added co-op play and updated visuals that improve on the Game Boy Advance title, this is a guaranteed must-play for fans of the red-suited plumber and the giant hairy ape.
February 22
Pacific Drive
Platforms: PC, PS5
Driving can be a nightmare. Not only do you have to deal with other drivers and nattering passengers, but you also have to contend with the high price of road tax and fuel, and the otherworldly hazards that threaten to bring an unfortunate end to your journey.
Okay, so that last problem isn’t something we have to deal with in the real world but in this upcoming title from Ironwood Studios, you’ll be faced with all kinds of supernatural dangers as you venture into the wilderness. This is a roguelike-survival game like no other and if early word is to be believed, it could be rather special. Here’s hoping it doesn’t run out of gas halfway through your playthrough!
February 29
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Platforms: PS5
If you played the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake and were frustrated at only completing half of Cloud’s adventures, you now have the opportunity to finish the tale that was originally brought to life on the PS1 in 1997.
After escaping from the city of Midgar in the first game, Cloud and his friends now have the opportunity to explore a vibrant and vast world containing beautiful, expansive environments. They don’t only have to travel on foot, of course, as its much easier to get around on a Chocobo! Expect the high graphical fidelity of the first part of the remake, alongside fast-paced combat, grand cinematic storytelling, and a gallery of weird and wonderful enemies. Be warned: if the remake plays close to the original game, you might need to bring a hanky!
