Video Game Release Dates: The Latest Games Coming to PC and Consoles in December 2023

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the biggest game releasing this month but there are lots of other titles to look forward to, including The Day Before, SteamWorld Build, and The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

December 1

DragonQuest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Platforms: Switch

Journey into a fantastical quest for revenge in this new spin-off to the Dragon Quest series of games.

You take on the role of a character named Psaro, who is cursed and unable to harm anything with monster blood. Your job is to become a monster wrangler and create an army that is ready for battle.

Your hunt for monsters will take you through the ever-changing seasons of Nadira and its unique environments, including mysterious ancient ruins and (bizarrely) soaring towers of cake! Do you have what it takes to become the Master of Monsterkind?

SteamWorld Build

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, XSeries X/S, Switch

In this upcoming city-building/dungeon-crawling video game, you are tasked with escaping your dying planet by building a mining town to dig up the vital long-lost technology that will help your cause. Not only that but you must also meet the growing needs of local citizens, trade resources, and defend your mine from creatures that lurk in the depths below.

December 5

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

After the disastrous Lord Of The Rings: Gollum, fans of Tolkien’s fantasy world are hoping this latest title set in Middle Earth is better than that broken and tedious misfire.

In this survival crafting game, you will follow the Dwarves as they embark on a new adventure to reclaim their legendary home of Moria below the Misty Mountains. Join forces with other players to survive, craft, build, and explore the sprawling mines where all kinds of dangers await.

December 7

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Fans of James Cameron’s Avatar movies will want to check out this adventure title that is set in the never-before-seen Western Frontier of Pandora. During the game, you take on the role of a Na’vi and journey through beautiful open-world regions to reconnect with your lost heritage. You don’t only have to travel on foot as you can take control of various creatures, including your own personal banshee that will take you soaring into the skies.

  • Experience the alluring world of Pandora


The Day Before (Early Access)

Platforms: PC 

The Day Before is an open-world MMO survival game set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars.

The game will also become available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S but release dates for these versions are currently unknown.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Made in close partnership with Games Workshop, this story-rich RPG puts you in the shoes of a Rogue Trader who begins the game in a giant voidship exploring the stars and looking for opportunities to profit. Every decision you make in the game will have an impact on the world around you, so play wisely as you build a crew and take on your deadly enemies.
