Breakthrough
Episode 3 of Mythic Quest season 4 starts with Poppy and Carol both calling in sick at work because they’re both in bed with their lovers. However, that doesn’t stop Poppy working, which she does after lovemaking, as you do. Storm tells her she needs to unwind and take time away from it, deciding to take a break so she can get her breakthrough.
The pair stay in bed all day, slobbing it out and enjoying pizza. Poppy also helps Storm with a zoom-call to pretend he’s working, while Poppy successfully manages to go the whole day without doing anything.
Back at work though, Jo is still contemplating Dana’s words about finding her purpose. While she’s deep in thought, Ian realizes now’s the perfect time to do some introspection, given this is Warrior Within day at the workplace.
Well, not all the workplace anyway. The only ones who show up for this are Ian, Jo and David, who all end up making armour and swords. As a result, Jo decides to crank up her intensity in being the best assistant ever. David meanwhile, decides he’s going to shoot his shot and asks Ian out for dinner. He refuses, of course, hilariously saying he doesn’t even look at him as a friend.
Meanwhile, Dana continues to do great work with PlayPen, despite a plot point last episode about the sex rooms. However, both Dana and Rachel are about to be schooled by Brad, who decides he’s going to teach them how to respect money. He goes through their finances and decides they need to break up, given Dana would save a ton of money in doing so. Instead, they decide to stay together and spend a lot of money on buying a new house.
At work the next day, Poppy is back and Ian ends up with hives.
The Episode Review
So Mythic Quest is back and this episode there really isn’t a whole lot of depth or development for anyone or anything, really. Sure, Jo ends up back at the same spot she’s always been in, but we have Poppy go a whole day doing nothing, while Dana is still awesome and amazing at everything without any depth.
What happened to that storyline featuring Playpen and the scandal with the sex rooms? What’s going on with the AI? Both of these seem to have been dropped completely here in favour of this Warrior Within day which just feels like busywork.
Hopefully things improve though but this has been a pretty poor episode.
