He loses his cool and ploughs some heavy blows on Yang-hui until the police get there and drag him off the man.

Hyun-woo is rushed to the hospital while Yang-hui and Ji-hwan are escorted to the police station. As expected, Yang-hui tries to act innocent, saying he was attacked out of the blue. Meanwhile, Hyun-woo regains consciousness and asks Eun-ha and Dong-hui to head home as he goes to the police station. He arrives just in time to give his statement and have Ji-hwan released.

Upon his release, Ji-hwan is surprised to find his dad waiting outside the station for him. He is also taken aback when Eun-ha rushes to him, worrying if he is okay. Sensing danger, Hyun-woo tries to pull Eun-ha from Ji-hwan. As usual, Ji-hwan pulls away from her and walks away. His dad asks him to stop running and return to the gang.

After getting home, the guys notice Eun-ha and Ji-hwan are acting distant again. They understand Ji-hwan wants to protect Eun-ha, but worry about their relationship. Ji-hwan heads to the office and tries to think of a solution to save the company and Eun-ha. The next morning, Il-young asks Eun-ha to live with Mi-ho until things settle down and she agrees. Mi-ho encourages Eun-ha to be patient with Ji-hwan.

At the company, the workers worry about the fate of the company. They think it might close down because Tae-pyeong is intent on ruining them. Jae-su tries to encourage Ji-hwan to hold on and fight. After this talk, Ji-hwan calls Gang-gil and asks to meet. He asks Gang-gil to consider doing the right thing. On the other hand, Gang-gil asks Ji-hwan to consider giving up.

At the prosecutor’s office, Hyun-woo tries to find a way to go after Tae-pyeong. He brings Yang-hui for questioning and riles him up, trying to get him to betray Tae-pyeong. Yang-hui is offended that Tae-pyeong is not working on getting him out and is set on making Ji-hwan take over the gang. Shortly after, Yang-hui is able to post bail, but Hyun-woo uses the tracker on his leg to keep a watch on him

As all this goes on, Ji-hwan and Eun-ha continue to miss each other. Still, Ye-na, Eun-ha and Hong-gi team up to help the company boost sales by creating a trending challenge on social media.

Eun-ha coincidentally runs into Ji-hwan during this time and confronts him for always avoiding her when things get tough. She tells him that she is scared and wants to be by his side, no matter what is happening. Ji-hwan folds and embraces her. He later drives her home and gives her a necklace, promising to return to her soon. He asks her to wait a little longer, and she agrees.

Meanwhile, Tae-pyeong summons Jae-su and kidnaps him. Jae-su begs Tae-pyeong to kill him but sets Ji-hwan free from his clutches. Unbeknownst to his father’s action, Ji-hwan talks to II-young and asks him to look after the company when and if he is gone. It feels like Ji-hwan is making arrangements, thinking he will die. He also stops by Mi-ho’s house and watches Eun-ha from afar before walking away.

Later that night, Ji-hwan gets a call from Gang-gil, telling him where the ledgers of Tae-pyeong’s slush funds are. Tae-pyeong. Ji-hwan calls Hyun-woo and asks him to send officers to his location. He confesses that he is going after his dad and wants Hyun-woo to be there to collect the evidence.

Ji-hwan enters the building and finds Jae-su tied up. Tae-pyeong orders his men to beat Jae-su, hoping it will make Ji-hwan change his mind. Ji-hwan refuses to give in to his dad and uses his body to protect Jae-su. The guards turn their attention n him and beat him up. Tae-pyeong gets close to talk to Ji-hwan and Yang-hui shows up out of the blue. He moves to stab Tae-pyeong, but Ji-hwan covers his dad and gets stabbed instead.

The episode ends with him slowly losing consciousness as he imagines Eun-ha’s face. She promises to wait for him, and he vows to return before he faints.

The Episode Review

Yang-hui is delusional. He expected Tae-pyeong to hand over the reins to him and got angry when the man chose his son to succeed him. Yang-hui’s sense of entitlement is his ruin. At the same time, Tae-pyeong is the worst dad a man can have. Why would anyone force their child into a criminal life? He should be happy and proud that his son turned out to be a decent human being.

Why is he set on ruining his son’s life? Is the gang more important than Ji-hwan’s life? This episode was frustrating to watch, as it felt like everyone was making the wrong decisions. However, we hope that the finale will give us light moments and help us forget the sadness in this episode.
