My Love Mix-Up! (Thai) – Season 1 Episode 11 Recap & Review

Episode 11

Episode 11 of My Love Mix-Up (Thai) begins with Half speaking to the counselor, Mr Annop. Annop advises him to “tell her”. Next is Atom’s turn. His pre-test results have given him a 23% chance of getting into the university in Bangkok. Annop tells him there is enough time to improve his chances.

Meanwhile, it’s time for the school’s annual play again, and this time they’ve chosen Beauty and the Beast. Half is voted to play the beast and when Mudmee realises the play will have a real kiss, she asks to audition for Beauty’s role.

When it’s time for the audition, Mudmee goes off at Half for holding hands and showing heart-eyes to the other students auditioning. Watching them fight, the students in charge of the play are impressed and select Mudmee to play Beauty.

Meanwhile, Atom is intensely focused on studying to get into the same college as Kongthap. But Annop reminds him to enjoy his time in high school as well.

Later, he cooks a bowl of ramen to eat with Kongthap while the latter is working on the play’s props. They talk about how much they’ve changed over the past year and then Kongthap asks Atom to come with him to the high school festival since it’s their last year. Meanwhile, Half and Mudmee rehearse their scene but Half keeps thinking about what Annop told him to tell Mudmee.

At home, Atom’s mother finds his eraser with Kongthap’s name on it. In the morning, Atom tells her it is the day of the school festival. She asks if he has anything to tell her but he avoids answering and rushes out of the house. He and Kongthap then explore the fair.

They win cute prizes at the dart stall and attend the concert of a band named Chinzilla (an easter egg from GeminiFourth’s previous BL drama My School President). As Atom and Kongthap dance along, Atom’s mother watches from afar.

Backstage, Mudmee and Half are all dressed up but Mudmee knows something is wrong with Half. She asks him to tell her and he finally says he won’t be attending the same university as her. He found another one that fits him better, but it’s in Chiang Mai. Mudmee looks upset but plays it down, telling Half they’ll be okay. She then rushes off to ‘fix her makeup’.

Before they can go see the other booths, Atom gets a call from his mother who says she’s visiting the school fair. But his phone dies before they can finish the conversation. Kongthap tells him to go meet his mother while he heads off towards the play. But while Atom is running around, his mother finds Kongthap. He explains about Atom’s phone.

Atom’s mother chats with Kongthap and then opens up about Atom’s fear of abandonment, due to his father leaving them. She says he looks independent but he’s scared of being left alone. Kongthap assures her that Atom is strong and that he’ll have Kongthap no matter what. This puts her at ease. Unbeknownst to them, Atom hears everything. He comes up to them and his mother says she got what she wanted and takes her leave.

Mudmee and Half get ready to go on stage. Half apologises but Mudmee understands and says they should make the most of their time together now. Outside, Atom and Kongthap take their seats. The play starts and we see moments from Half and Mudmee’s story alongside it.

As the play comes to a close, they smile at each other. A flashback shows that Half promised to see Mudmee whenever he can. At present, he asks Mudmee to promise that she’ll keep smiling. She says yes and they kiss.

Later on, Atom and Kongthap go to their spot on the school rooftop. Atom then admits that his pretest scores haven’t been as good as he wanted. He shows Kongthap the test paper and says that he’s going to keep trying anyway. Kongthap notices that he’s filled out the wrong faculty code on his test. They check the proper result online and it gives Atom a 55% chance of getting in! Both boys are ecstatic and hug.

Half calls Kongthap and tells them to come downstairs for the fireworks. But the roof door is locked and they decide to watch it from the roof itself. As they settle down to watch the fireworks, Kongthap says there’s one thing he still has to do. He then pulls Atom in for a kiss. When they pull away, Kongthap says this time he wants to be the one to make the first move.

The Episode Review

Episode 11 of My Love Mix-Up is another dollop of sweetness. We see Atom’s mother find out about him and Kongthap and her ensuing conversation with Kongthap is quite heartwarming. Her concerns about Atom are fair and it’s great to watch Kongthap assure her. Mudmee and Half get a nice story as well, with Half choosing to follow his dreams even if it causes some heart.

The issues of university life and long-distance relationships loom over our characters now and it’s very clear that the story is nearing its end, as is their time in high school The fair did give Atom, Kongthap, Mudmee, and Half a fun way to enjoy their last few days here. This series continues to be a fun, lighthearted watch with some nice easter eggs for BL fans and hopefully, the finale next week will close everything out on a positive note.
