Plot Summary
Murder Mubarak starts on the night of a party at the elite, Royal Delhi Club, where members of the club take a photo together to celebrate the upcoming elections for the new president. The next morning, the club’s present president Mr Bhatti calls ACP Bhavani Singh after the discovery of a dead body in the gym.
The club’s resident fitness freak and pervert, Leo Matthews, is found dead in the middle of his workout. ACP Bhavani starts investigating the murder and tries to understand the complicated dynamics between the club members.
What secrets of the club members does ACP Bhavani Singh reveal?
After investigating the donation records of the Shepherds Orphan Age, ACP Bhavani concludes that Leo has the reputation of a Robin Hood for the shelter home. He learns that Leo often blackmailed the rich members of the Royal Delhi Club to force them to make hefty donations to the orphanage in exchange for keeping their dirty secrets safe.
After looking at the CCTV footage from the club, ACP Bhavani Singh learns that Leo had learned the truth about Mr Ranvijay Singh’s homosexuality as well as his bogus attempts to appear rich while being very poor in reality.
On the other hand, the cop also learns that Leo was blackmailing actress, Shehnaz Noorani, forcing her to accept the Shepherds Orphanage warden – Raks as her son after he was given up for adoption when Shehnaz was 16 years old.
How does ACP Singh connect Leo’s death to Anshul’s?
ACP Bhavani Singh reveals the club attendant – Mr Guppie Ram had died by suicide because he was overwhelmed by guilt over the murder of Anshul – Bambi’s husband. The cop reveals that Anshul died due to blunt-force trauma and could have been killed by Yash Batra, a drug addict and son of Roshni Batra.
The cop adds that Yash had attempted suicide by overdosing on drugs and was currently in the hospital. He adds that Yash has left behind a note, confessing his feelings for Bambi, his childhood friend.
What happens to Aakash?
ACP Bhavani Singh adds that Yash had feelings for Bambi and would often stalk her. However, he clarifies that Yash was not Anshul or Leo’s killer. ACP Singh further revealed that there is video evidence of Aakash Dogra’s car in the club parking lot on the night of Anshul’s murder.
He alleges that Aakash had used Guppie Ram’s help to bury the corpse and adds that the murder weapon was found in the Dogra family house. Bambi panics when she learns about Aakash’s arrest and tries to save him.
Aakash is being taken into police custody by ACP Bhavani Singh when Bambi finally confesses the truth.
What happened to Bambi’s husband, Anshul?
Bambi reveals that she loved the club dearly and always wanted to be a part of the elite world she grew up in. After learning that Anshul was having an affair with their maid, she fought with him. Anshul asked Bambi for a divorce as he wanted to marry the maid which caused Bambi to lose her mind. Bambi ends up killing Anshul with the Mother Theresa artefact in a fit of rage and takes Guppie Ji’s help to bury his body in the club.
Who is the real killer?
Bambi reveals that Guppie had revealed this secret to Leo one night after getting drunk. Following this, Leo would often blackmail Bambi. Bambi confesses that she had spiked Leo’s protein shake with drugs that caused him to die mid-workout.
Moreover, she confesses to also trying to gaslight Guppie Ji into killing himself as well as forcing Yash to attempt suicide so that she could pin the blame on him. ACP Bhavani reveals that he already latched on to Bambi’s lies when she had tried to involve herself in the murder investigation while having no part in it.
How does Murder Mubarak end?
In prison, Aakash realises that Bambi is a lost cause and breaks down because he dearly loves her. Bambi seems to have lost her mind as she is certain that Aakash will stand by her forever despite her guilt in the murders.
The next morning, ACP Bhavani drops Aakash at his house and asks him to go back to Kolkata to start his life afresh. Bhavani Singh goes to the chat shop to enjoy a snack after solving the murder mystery from the Royal Delhi Club.
