Biggest Movies on US Streaming Services in April 2024

There are some great movies coming to US streaming services this month, including Wish on Disney+, The Zone of Interest on Max, and The Holdovers on Prime Video.

Below is a rundown of all the biggest movie releases that are available to stream in April.

Let us know which movies you will be watching in the comments below.

Shazam Fury of the Gods (2023)

Release Date: April 1

Where To Watch: Hulu

Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still trying to get to grips with their superpowers when a vengeful trio of ancient gods arrives on Earth in search of a magical stone that was taken from them years before.

This sequel to 2019’s Shazm isn’t quite as fresh and funny as that film but it’s still an entertaining comic book flick with lots of action-packed spectacle.

Wish (2023)

Release Date: April 3

Where To Watch: Disney+

When a young girl named Asha (Ariana DeBose) wishes on a star, she gets more than she bargained for when a trouble-making star comes down from the sky to join her. Together, they embark on a quest to save the community from a formidable foe – the fearsome King Magnifico (Chris Pine).

Baghead (2023)

Release Date: April 5

Where To Watch: Shudder

When her estranged father dies, a young woman inherits a run-down pub that contains a shape-shifting creature dwelling in the basement. We bet she wasn’t given that information when she signed the ownership deeds!

How To Date Billy Walsh (2024)

Release Date: April 5

Where To Watch: Prime Video

This British comedy tells the story of two childhood friends, Amelia and Archie.

Archie has romantic feelings for Amelia but just as he is plucking up the courage to tell her, she falls for Billy Walsh, the new transfer student.

The Zone of Interest (2023)

Release Date: April 5

Where To Watch: Max

Jonathan Glazer’s Oscar-winning film focuses on the life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his wife Hedwig, who lived a privileged life with their family in a home next to the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Exorcist: Believer

The Exorcist: Believer (2023)

Release Date: April 9

Where To Watch: Prime Video

David Gordon Green, the director of the rebooted Halloween trilogy, is at the helm of this latest addition to the Exorcist franchise. But despite the presence of Ellen Burstyn, who returns as Chris MacNeil (the mother of Regan, the possessed child in the first film), this wasn’t well-received by critics at the time of its release.

Despite the movie’s failings, it’s better than the other sequels that followed The Exorcist, so is worth a look if you’re a fan of the first movie.

The Greatest Hits (2024)

Release Date: April 12

Where To Watch: Hulu

Listening to old songs can send us on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, but none of us expect them to send us back in time to where we were when we first heard them.

But for Harriet (Lucy Boynton), the protagonist of this tale, that is exactly what happens when her music literally transports her back in time on a romantic journey into the past.

Late Night With the Devil (2023)

Release Date: April 19

Where To Watch: Shudder

Horror novelist Stephen King raved about this new chiller after being given a screener for this upcoming release, so what further recommendation do you need to watch it?

David Dastmalchian stars as a TV host of a failing syndicated talk show. To boost the ratings, he plans a Halloween special like no other, little realizing that he is about to unleash evil into the nation’s living rooms!

Migration (2023)

Release Date: April 19

Where To Watch: Peacock

Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, and Danny DeVito are among the voice cast of this enjoyable animated movie about a family of ducks who try to convince their adventure-loathing father to head south for the winter.

Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver

Release Date: April 19

Where To Watch: Netflix

The second part of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi saga with Sofia Boutella as the mysterious warrior protecting her once-peaceful community from the threat of an Imperialistic military force.

Anyone But You (2023)

Release Date: April 23

Where To Watch: Netflix

Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell star in this romantic comedy about two people whose initial attraction turns ice-cold after an amazing first date. When they find themselves reunited at a wedding in Australia, sparks begin to fly again when they pretend to be a couple.

the holdovers

The Holdovers (2023)

Release Date: April 29

Where To Watch: Prime Video

Alexander Payne’s new movie received several Oscar nominations but won only one – the Best Supporting Actress award for the supremely talented Da’Vine Joy Randolph who won the Oscar for her role as grieving cook Mary Lamb.

The movie stars Paul Giamatti as a cranky prep school teacher who is forced to remain on campus over the holidays with Mary and a troubled student named Angus (Dominic Sessa) who has nowhere else to go.
