Run Sweetheart Run 2
Shana Feste’s new thriller Run Sweetheart Run is available to watch on Prime Video right now. It’s a very good film, as we stated in our review, and if you enjoyed the film as we did, you might be interested in a sequel.
But will there be a Run Sweetheart Run 2? Or have the chances of a sequel eluded us?
Here’s what we know at the time of writing:
What is Run Sweetheart Run about?
The film stars Ella Balinska as Cherie, a young woman who is forced to run through the streets of LA after a nasty encounter with Ethan (Pilou Asbæk), a seemingly charming man whom she meets at the request of her law firm boss.
On the surface, the film is yet another ‘woman in peril’ movie, the likes of which you think you may have seen before. However, there are lots of surprises in store for both the viewer and Cherie as the film has a dark twist that can’t easily be predicted.

Will there be a Run Sweetheart Run 2?
At the time of writing, a sequel to Run Sweetheart Run has not been announced. The chances of a sequel will likely depend on viewing figures and critical reviews.
As the movie has only just been released, it’s too early to talk about viewing figures but reviews for the film have mostly been positive and it currently has a 68% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
There is certainly scope for a sequel as the film introduces some fantastical plot points that could be further explored. But for now, we will just have to wait and see as there doesn’t seem to be any talk of a follow-up movie at this stage.
What could Run Sweetheart Run 2 be about?
The first film focuses on Cherie, an aspiring young law student who is denied access to career advancement by her patronizing boss. Without giving too much away, the end of that film saw Cherie overcome an obstacle to her career journey so in the sequel, it might be that Cheryl has climbed the career ladder.
Of course, we shouldn’t expect a legal drama if there is a part 2. That would be a bit of a disappointment to viewers who wanted to see another horror thriller. Run Sweetheart Run largely focused on Cherie’s attempts to survive after a client dinner turned into something far more deadly so the sequel will likely see the young lawyer in peril again, presumably from the revenge-seeking Ethan.

When could Run Sweetheart Run 2 be released?
If there is a sequel, it would likely debut around Halloween time, just as Run Sweetheart Run did this year. We might see the sequel in October next year or perhaps even 2024, but this will depend on the willingness of the director and actors to return for a follow-up movie.

The sequel should have Cherie and the First Lady get their revenge on the men who want to be in control. There should be a game where her boss has to run for his life.
