Hard Feelings
Currently streaming on Netflix is Hard Feelings, a German comedy about a young man named Charly who has an unusual problem: He has a talking penis! He isn’t the only person to have this issue as his best friend Paula also has genitalia that speaks to her!
If you have seen and enjoyed this movie, you might be interested in a sequel.
But will there be a Hard Feelings 2? Or have we seen the last of Charly and his chattering penis? Here’s what we know.
What is Hard Feelings about?
On the surface, the movie is about two high schoolers who face regular humiliation because of their talking appendages. However, the movie isn’t as silly or as shallow as you might suspect.
Hard Feelings does have a bizarre concept but the movie is likely making a statement on how we think with our genitals and not with our heads when our hormones kick in. It’s as if our private parts take on a life of their own which, in this movie’s story, they do in a literal sense.
Will there be a sequel to Hard Feelings?
At the time of writing, a sequel to Hard Feelings has not been announced. Netflix usually base their decision to green-light sequels on viewing figures and critical reactions. As the movie has just been released, we don’t know if it has been a hit with audiences. Most critics seem to like the movie although review scores border on average rather than high.
Of course, some movies aren’t made with a sequel in mind and we think this is true of Hard Feelings. There has been no talk of a sequel online so it’s likely that Hard Feelings is a standalone movie that doesn’t need a follow-up.
What could happen in Hard Feelings 2?
At the end of the movie, Charly and Paula think they have finally silenced their talking body parts. But after hearing a weather report that is filled with innuendo, their genitals start speaking again when the teens become sexually excited.
Should a sequel be made, it would likely focus on Charly and Paula and the humiliating experiences they go through because of their ‘special friends.’ We might see them after graduation and trying to deal with their unique problem at whatever workplace they end up in. Or the movie might return to the high school setting, perhaps with other students developing the same issues that Charly and Paula have had to deal with.
When could Hard Feelings 2 be released?
We could see a sequel as soon as next year if the first movie’s director Granz Henman is given the opportunity to get it off the ground. But as we don’t think a follow-up movie is likely to happen, we don’t think you should get your hopes up for Hard Feelings 2.
