Gil Kenan took on directing duties from Jason Reitman for the highly anticipated sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace reprise their roles from Afterlife and are joined by legacy cast Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts. But will there be a Ghostbusters 6? Or do we have to settle for the last movie being the end of the supernatural franchise? Here’s what we know at the time of writing:

When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to save the world from a second ice age.

Will there be a sequel to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire?

Possibly. There was a post-credits scene involving the Puft Marshmallow men, hinting at more stories to come in the franchise. However, Ghostbusters 6 hasn’t been announced yet, but never say never. So far, it sounds like the fans are loving Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, so once the box office figures are released, we’ll know more about the possibility of a sequel. 

When could Ghostbusters 6 be released?

The sequel would have at least been discussed if it were in the works. However, since there is currently no information regarding Ghostbusters 6, it is best to avoid getting your hopes up, as the likelihood of one is in the balance.
