Netflix seems to have outdone itself this year with multiple Valentine’s Day releases that have diverse stories. Well, say hello to The Heartbreak Agency which is a cute German movie by Shirel Peleg who has also directed Kiss Me Kosher and Druck, the German version of the iconic series, SKAM.
Also known as Die Liebeskümmerer, The Heartbreak Agency is a sweet and wholesome rom-com when a journalist falls for the target he is trying to expose. It stars Rosalie Thomass as Maria and Laurence Rupp as Karl along with Cora Trube, Jakob Schreier and Jerry Hoffmann.
Well, if you have seen it, like every other viewer, you may be looking for its sequel. But will there be a The Heartbreak Agency 2? Or is there little chance of a follow-up film? Here’s what we know at the time of writing.

What is The Heartbreak Agency about?
The Heartbreak Agency is a hilarious rom-com which begins with the journalist Karl going down a rabbit hole when a “heartbreak agency” advises his girlfriend to break up with him. Furious, he takes a shot at the founder, Maria but in turn loses his job for his harsh words. With things not turning out in his favour, his boss tells him to put out a positive article to keep his job.
Unsure of how to proceed, Karl is forced to understand heartbreak from the self-proclaimed expert herself, Maria! As they start bonding, he rethinks his views on love while she starts falling for his surprisingly kind nature.
Will there be a The Heartbreak Agency 2?
At the time of writing, a sequel to The Heartbreak Agency has not been announced.
Netflix picks up projects they have distributed and announces sequels depending on the popularity, views and drop-off rates. So, if The Heartbreak Agency does well on Netflix, we could maybe get a sequel. But it is unlikely at the moment.
What could happen in The Heartbreak Agency 2?
Not much is known since a sequel has not been announced. The Heartbreak Agency also technically ends on a definite note. Maria has to choose between her ex and Karl as he misunderstands her relationship with her ex. But after he realises that they love each other, he heads to the agency and protects her from an unruly client. In exchange, she is touched and she accepts his love.
Though, if we do get a sequel, it could maybe look into another client who is affected by the heartbreak agency and in return, finds true love.
Of course, this is all speculation as there has been no official news regarding a second movie. Keep an eye out for this section as we will update readers if there is any news.
