Spaceman 2
Adam Sandler might have top billing in this new Netflix movie but don’t be fooled. Spaceman isn’t one of the actor’s more comedic movies for the streaming service.
Rather, it’s the tale of a man named Jakub who escapes the troubles in his marriage by travelling thousands of miles into outer space. This becomes a journey of self-discovery for the troubled man, so Spaceman is more of a philosophical drama than a silly comedy.
Still, there is a giant spider in the movie, so you don’t have to take the movie too seriously. That being said, even the spider has personal problems, so don’t expect to chuckle your way through this one!
If you have seen Spaceman, you may be interested in a sequel. But will there be a Spaceman 2? Or have the chances a follow-up movie been blasted into orbit? Here’s what we know:
What is Spaceman about?
Spaceman tells the story of Jakub Prochazka, a man who escapes his failing marriage by travelling to Jupiter on a space mission to study something known as the Chopra Cloud. But due to his tiredness, loneliness, and feelings of guilt about past mistakes, he begins to mentally unravel.
Not long after, Jakub discovers a giant extraterrestrial spider has taken up residence in his ship. The cosmonaut is alarmed at first but over time he and the spider begin to bond. Jakub is then reminded of his past by the arachnid who tries to mentally heal him.

Will there be a Spaceman 2?
At the time of writing, a sequel to Spaceman has not been announced. While Sandler isn’t immune to sequels to his films, such as Grown Ups 2 and Murder Mystery 2, we think it unlikely that a sequel to Spaceman will happen.
The movie is based on the 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař and that didn’t get a follow-up book, so this is one reason why we’re doubtful of a sequel. Another reason is that the movie doesn’t need a part 2. While the ending is a little ambiguous, there’s not a lot of point to continue past the conclusion.
As such, we don’t think Spaceman 2 will happen. But if we do hear news of a sequel, we will update this page with new information.
What could happen in Spaceman 2?
If there is a sequel, we would likely rejoin Jakub on Earth as he tries to make his relationship with Lenka work. We might also learn more about the origins of the spider that Jakub encountered on his journey to Jupiter. But as a sequel isn’t likely, we don’t expect to see these plot ideas materialise on screen.

Well i think the movie is an abselute masterpiece and i would love if they made an sequel i really hope there will be more movies as good as this one…

Well, since the movie left off at a point that’s maybe just over halfway through the book, is say a sequel wouldn’t be impossible.
