Run Rabbit Run 2
Netflix’s decision to pick Run Rabbit Run from Sundance is another feather in its cap. They have a knack for understanding content better than most OTT platforms. But having watched the film, Netflix’s decision seems quite straightforward. Run Rabbit Run is a mazy slow burn that tests your patience in the most frustrating and inexplicable way. Even when you think you have a handle on what the film is about one moment, it turns out to be something quite different the next..
Sara Snook is quite outstanding as Sarah, the protagonist, or antagonist, as you’ll discover. Lily LaTorre, who plays her young daughter, is the other mainstay in the film and her performance is so good, she should be added to the list of extraordinary talents in the children’s artists category. Nothing about her performance suggests any lack of maturity. LaTorre has a stance and stature that will take her a long way in her career.
If you have seen and enjoyed Run Rabbit Run 2, you might be interested in a sequel.
But will there be a third movie? Here’s what we know.
What is Run Rabbit Run about?
The movie’s main protagonist is Sarah Gregory (Snook), a single mother who lives with Mia (LaTorre), her young daughter. Sarah is haunted by memories of her past, which frighteningly spill over into the present when Mia is gifted a toy rabbit by her grandmother.
What is the significance of this rabbit? That isn’t something we are going to reveal here but it has ties to a tragic event that happened many years ago. The movie gives us a glimpse into Sarah’s past while focusing on her life in the present, which is disrupted by the toy and its effect on her daughter.

Will there be a sequel to Run Rabbit Run?
At the time of writing, Run Rabbit Run has not been renewed for a sequel. There were no prior plans to commission a second part as un Run Rabbit Run had not been envisaged as being more than a single standing film. The decision to make a second feature is not in Netflix’s hands yet. If they do decide to buy the rights for the film, they can ponder over a decision. They only have distribution rights currently. Right now, the final call rests with XYZ and Carver Films.
But we have to mention that a second part seems quite unlikely. Given the way the film has ended, it seems unlikely that Run Rabbit Run will have a sequel. While a surprise is always in the offing in the film industry, do not expect too much to materialize on this front. The creators have remained quiet on the possibility of a sequel during the marketing and promotional campaign.
We will be updating this page with any new developments as and when they happen. But we’d like to reiterate that a Run Rabbit Run sequel at the moment isn’t likely.
What could happen in Run Rabbit Run 2?
Barely anything is known at the moment as a second follow-up movie hasn’t been ordered yet. The ending of Run Rabbit Run was quite tricky, which is why we have broken it down for you here. There is no way to comment on it without spoiling it for you so we won’t. All we can say is that the ending does not warrant any more attention to the story. If the makers do choose to go the anthology way and create a franchise with the same themes and format, the potential follow-up movies will look and feel quite differently.
That is all we have at the moment for our readers. But be assured, if there is any news on this we will let you know!
