Will there be a No One Will Save You 2? Here’s what we know about a sequel:

No One Will Save You 2

Currently streaming on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in other territories, No One Will Save You is a sci-fi horror movie about a young woman’s battle for survival against the aliens that have invaded her small town.

If you have seen and enjoyed this movie, you might be interested in a sequel.

But will there be a No One Will Save You 2? Or have the chances of a sequel been beamed up into outer space and obliterated from existence?

Here’s what we know about a sequel:

What is No One Will Save You about?

No One Will Save You stars Kaitlyn Dever as Brynn, a creative young woman who has been isolated from her community for reasons that are revealed late into the movie’s runtime.

Brynn lives alone in her home following the death of her mother. But one night, after being awakened by strange noises, she discovers she has company. Unfortunately, the company in question is an alien that Brynn is forced to battle against in order to stay alive.

The movie is a good one, with excellent special effects and a few moments of intense horror. A sequel would be welcomed as the ending of the movie is rather abstract in nature.

But will there be a follow-up movie?

Will there be a No One Will Save You 2?

At the time of writing, a sequel to No One Will Save You has not been announced

Generally, Hulu and Disney+, like other cable networks and streamers, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show or a movie, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some of a streamer’s content, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton, Red Notice etc.) Other times, it can take months before a streamer like Hulu makes a decision over a sequel’s future.

The opinion of movie critics can also determine whether a sequel is given the green light.

As the movie has been given a positive critical response, a sequel would prove to be the logical next project for the movie’s director, Brian Duffield, who previously directed the mind-bending (and head-exploding) horror comedy Spontaneous.

Unfortunately, Duffield is not interested in making a sequel to No One Will Save You. In an interview with Slashfilm, he said:

“I am not the biggest sequel guy. I joked with Kaitlyn, maybe it’s every seven years, we’ll do our “Before Sunset” and we’ll save you. I could do a sequel. I have no plans to do a sequel. If enough people watched it on Hulu and everyone’s begging for it, we’ll talk. There’s not a franchise super plan in my head yet. It would take a lot of work then I’d be so stressed out that I have to come up with something.”

As you can gather from these comments, Duffield hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of a sequel but for now, it’s wise not to get your hopes up for No One Will Save You 2.

What could happen in No One Will Save You 2?

In the unlikely event a sequel was given the green light, it would likely focus on Brynn again. It would probably continue on from the events of the last movie, where Brynn had seemingly found happiness, despite the threat of aliens around her. The movie might include more backstory for the aliens and their reason for invading Earth or it could shift some of its focus onto other characters in Brynn’s community and their attempts to manage the alien invasion.

This is just speculation as there has been no official word about story details for a potential sequel. But what would you like to see in No One Will Save You 2? Drop us a message in the comments section below.

When could No One Will Save You 2 be released?

As the director of No One Will Save You isn’t in a hurry to get a sequel into production, we shouldn’t expect to see No One Will Save You 2 any time within the next couple of years. There is also a chance that we won’t get to see a sequel at all as he doesn’t seem interested in creating a follow-up movie.

Of course, if the first movie is a hit with audiences, Duffield (or another director) might be pushed into making a sequel by the folks at Hulu and 20th Century Studios. Should this happen and a release date is announced, we will update this article with the relevant information.
