Destroy All Neighbors 2
Problem neighbours are the focus of Destroy All Neighbors, a schlocky new horror comedy that is currently streaming on Shudder. William Brown, an aspiring musician, struggles to work because of his noisy neighbour Vlad, and when he confronts the mean Russian, a tragedy ensues when William accidentally causes Vlad’s death.
The body count rises with William at the centre of it all. The story progresses with some bizarre twists and turns, leading to an ending where William is held accountable for his accidental actions.
If you have seen and enjoyed Destroy All Neighbors, you might be hoping for a sequel.
But will there be a Destroy All Neighbors 2? Here’s what we know:
What is Destroy All Neighbors about?
The movie tells the story of prog rocker William and the unravelling of his life as people start dying around him. Strangely, those William kills come back to haunt him and even help him record a new album. As such, this is more than just a horror movie. It’s also a movie about one man’s attempts to make it as a musician, despite the odd events that befall him.
We won’t delve further into the movie here for fear of giving away spoilers. But if you would like to know more about Destroy All Neighbor’s story, check out our Ending Explained article which goes into further detail about the very weird plotline.
Will there be a Destroy All Neighbors 2?
At the time of writing, a sequel to Destroy All Neighbors has not been announced.
With some movies, sequels are announced soon after release but at other times, it can take months before a streamer like Shudder decides on a sequel’s future.
The reviews for Destroy All Neighbors have been mixed, with some praising the campy tone and others criticizing the messy story. We were a little critical of the movie in our review and considered it as irritating as a nuisance next-door neighbour because of the muddled story and unsatisfying ending. Sometimes, the negative response of critics can derail a sequel’s future. But in the case of Destroy All Neighbors, it’s not the reviews that will scupper the chances of a sequel but rather the fact that there is no real need to continue William’s story.
Of course, if we do hear news of a follow-up movie, we will update this article with new information.
What could happen in Destroy All Neighbors 2?
If a sequel were to happen, we would likely be re-introduced to William and the reanimated corpses of the people he inadvertently killed. They could become a band and rise to the top of the charts. William could even add to their number by accidentally causing the deaths of other poor unfortunates. This is dependent on William getting out of the predicament that he finds himself in at the end of Destroy All Neighbors, however, which doesn’t give him much room for continued fame (or infamy).
