Motel California is aptly titled after Ji Kang-hee’s rural motel. Facing prejudice in their small town due to her mixed-race background, Kang-hee formed a close bond with her childhood friend, Cheon Yeon-soo, who was also bullied.
She fell in love with Yeon-soo but decided to leave their hometown for Seoul when she turned 20, eventually pursuing a career in interior design.
12 years later, Kang Hee returns to her hometown and reunites with Yeon Soo, who now works as a veterinarian. Unbeknownst to Kang -hee, Yeon Soo has long held feelings for her, but he has allowed rumours to circulate that he’s dating someone to avoid propositions.
Will their “one-sided” loves finally get resolved after decades of keeping their feelings quiet?

Motel California will be available to watch on Viki worldwide. For Koreans, this is an MBC original and airs on that channel Mondays and Tuesdays at 9.50pm (KST)
Motel California Episode 2 Release Date
Motel California episode 2 will release on Saturday 11th January at approximately 4pm (GMT) / 11am (ET). The subtitle team at Viki can be a little slow before the entire chapter has been fully subbed. However, do expect the subtitles to be more in-depth. As for TVing, expect less delay.
Do be aware that sometimes K-dramas do show up a day later on Viki, so if it’s not showing at the time listed above, it may be worth returning after 24 hours. At that point, the episode is usually fully subbed.
