Monster Next Door (Thai BL) – Episode 5 Recap & Review

The Confession

Episode 5 of Monster Next Door picks up where we left off, with Diew taking a drunk Got home. They nearly kiss when they fall on a sofa and Got starts blabbing about how cute Diew is. Although flustered, Diew helps Got get a shower and puts him to bed.

The next morning, a shocked Got wakes up in Diew’s bed with a towel wrapped on his chest. After Diew reminds him of his shenanigans from the previous night, Got apologises and thanks him.

Diew feels overwhelmed at school when Jane, a classmate, keeps asking him to model for her new upcoming bag. He turns her down, and she gets pissed. He also feels stressed after failing to do well in his presentation because of his shyness. Meanwhile, Got has issues with his band. He wants to perform a different song genre for an upcoming competition, but his bandmates are afraid to try something new.

After a long day, both Diew and Got get home in a sad mood. Got buys Diew a turtle doll to cheer him up. He asks Diew to confide in him when he is struggling. Got also shares his band trouble and is encouraged by Diew.

They decide to be there for each other during tough times. As things get better between the two, Got becomes even more love-whipped. He talks to Beer about his feelings and questions whether he should confess to Diew. Got also advises Beer to confess his feelings to Wan as well.

We thought Beer and Wan were dating, but it seems they only live together. Beer likes Wan but is scared to tell him. On the other hand, Wan is pissed at Beer for consistently teasing him with ghost stories when he knows he gets scared easily.

Their fight leads to Wan choosing to sleep at Got’s place, but Beer follows him. When Got sides with Beer, Wan brings up Diew and questions why Got is holding back from confessing. He wonders if Got is scared Diew will leave him like Tan. Diew overhears the conversation and wonders who Tan is. However, he never asks Got.

After their fight and honest conversation, Beer takes Wan to a fortune reader to assure Wan there are no ghosts following him. The fortune teller advises Wan to focus on his lover, who is nearby.

A few days later, Diew invites Got to an art exhibition, and the latter confesses his feelings.

The Episode Review

Diew and Got are getting along well and learning more about each other. However, they have not gotten to the point of asking about each other’s ex. We are curious to find out who Tan is and whether he will affect this budding relationship.

The episode ended with a cliffhanger, so we don’t know if Diew will accept Got’s confession. We will have to wait to see his response next week.

Diew’s friend, Game, is a good advisor. When Diew was struggling because he couldn’t speak publicly, he made Diew feel better about himself. He immediately offered a solution and didn’t let Diew agonise over the issue.

Sadly, we see so little of Game in the show. Lastly, Beer and Wan are so cute. They need to admit their feelings for each other, but all in due time.
