Monster Next Door (Thai BL) – Episode 3 Recap & Review

I Need More Time

Episode 3 of Monster Next Door picks up where we left off, with Diew and Got running into each other. This is the first time that Diew has seen Got’s face. They are both overwhelmed and Got stammers trying to explain while Diew simply stares at him. Got drops a pen and Diew helps him pick it up.

As with all cliches, there is a moment of instant attraction, and Diew pulls his hand away. Got runs into his house and Diew heads to school.

Diew spends the day thinking about the incident and spaces out. Game tries to ask him what is wrong but Diew refuses to say much. On the other hand, Got worries that Diew might have misunderstood him. He leaves a note on Diew’s door asking to talk to him later.

They later meet on the balcony and talk about the incident. Got apologises even though he has no reason to and Diew asks for more time. He is not ready to do face-to-face dating.

Got understands him and agrees to give him some time to prepare himself mentally. Even though it has been seven months since Diew broke up with his ex, he is still healing from the trauma.

Meanwhile, Got’s friends take it upon themselves to deal with the trolls posting negative comments about Got’s band performance. It seems like one of the band members is also jealous of all the attention Got has been getting lately. He lashes out at Got for making a mistake during brand practice and says that Got wore a mask to raise his own profile. Got apologises and the other members came to his defence.

As days pass by, Got and Diew continue talking on the balcony and cheering each other up. Diew continues to enjoy his peaceful life. Game invites him to visit the bookstore and get new books. Game is surprised when Diew picks up a book about love and starts teasing him. He also notices that Got is very popular among the ladies in school. However, he has a hard time dealing with a classmate.

At the same time, Got’s friends continue to find him suspicious, but he refuses to tell them what is going on. Instead, he asks questions about different MBTIs.

Later, Got does a favour for the dorm owner and plays the role of a bear at a kid’s birthday party. He spots Diew and gives him a balloon to cheer him up. Diew is happy and shocked when he realises that Got is the one under the mask. He thanks Got for making his day.

After returning to the dorm, Diew is scared to find Mr Shy is sick. He calls his grandpa and asks what to do. The old man advises him to rush the turtle to the vet. Diew hurriedly takes the turtle and runs into Got outside his door. He asks Got to help him.

The Episode Review

Nothing much happens in this episode. The pace between these two is as slow as a tortoise at this point. They are talking and slowly depending on each other, so that is a good thing. However, the writers could have sped up things a little.

We are also curious about Wan and Beer. What is with the photo Wan has been keeping in the book and why can’t he let it go?
