Masters of the Air Season 1 Episode 7 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

Masters of the Air Season 1 Episode 7

Masters of Air marks the first production venture of Apple Studios, the digital arm of Apple Inc. Made at a budget of almost $250 million, the limited series is one of the most expensive productions in streaming history. Expectations are sky-high given the pedigree of the makers and the personnel involved creatively. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg’s involvement is bolstered by the presence of the creators behind the 2001 HBO series, Band of Brothers

Both shows are closely related to each other in terms of style, storytelling, and narrative essentials. Masters of Air has a humongous cast with star names like Austin Butler, Callum Turner, and Barry Keoghan. The plot follows the 100th Bomb Squad’s (8th US Air Force) valiant sacrifice in testing times during the Second World War.

What happened in Episode 6?

Episode 6 of Masters of the Air is divided into three storylines. We follow Crossby, Egan, and Rosenthal in different places in the aftermath of the Munster mission. Crossby is sent to attend a seminar in Oxford to give him a break following the news of Bubbles’ death. There, he meets a charming British woman, Alessandra Westgate. They instantly strike up a friendship, getting to know each other better.

Egan is hounded by German nationals in Westphalia. He is eventually captured and handed over to the army. Egan is interrogated by a German army officer, who gives him a chance to get leniency in exchange for secret info about the Air Force’s upcoming missions. But to no avail. Egan is thrown in with the other PoWs, mostly all American. He meets up with fellow crewmen of different squadrons.

As they are being taken to the Stalag, the soldiers are attacked by an angry mob. The area has just been bombed by the RAF and done so recklessly. Everyone except Egan is killed as the German guards stand down to the mob’s demands. Egan is finally transported to Stalag IV where he meets most of his friends from the 8th Bomb Squad, including Major Gale Cleven.

Rosenthal is distressed over the decision to send him to Coombe House. His unit has flown three missions in as many days. But Rosenthal doesn’t want to rest and spoil his rhythm. However, it is a good opportunity for the boys to get some time off and focus on the good things in life.

Crossby is heartbroken over the death of Bubbles. Westgate is a compassionate companion, encouraging him to see the valour in his friend’s sacrifice.
