Master of the House — Episode 6 “Rebellion” Recap & Review

Episode 6 Recap

The recap of Episode 6 of Master of the House, titled “Rebellion”, starts with a flashback of a young Phupat breaking one of Roongroj’s glass boxes. A young Yupin takes the blame to save Phupat. Roongroj punishes Yuphin by kicking her and locking her up in the servant quarters to teach her a lesson.

Phupat apologises to Yuphin for causing her to suffer and says he hates his father. The episode moves back to the night of the yacht party as Mavin and Phupat are going back home on a boat with Joke. Mavin starts passing out after drinking the wine that Joke offers him. Joke tries to kill a semi-conscious Mavin as Phupat watches.

Just then, Phupat calls Mavin out for killing their father and pushes him off the boat. Phupat asks Joke to light the boat on fire as per their plan and jumps into the water. Joke takes a life-saving jacket and sets the boat ablaze before jumping into the water himself.

Carlos watches the boat get set on fire from his sea-facing hotel room and Kaimook sneaks out of the room. She runs to meet Bee and Kaew as Yuphin rushes around calling the police. The rescue team save Phupat and Joke but cannot find Mavin. However, the rescue team announced that Mavin was found alive underwater.

Kaew, Bee and Kaimook are worried for Joke. Kaimook asks Phupat to do something as Mavin would kill them for what they had done. A flashback shows Phupat conspiring Mavin’s murder with Kaimook who takes the help of the other servants. Mavin pays the rescue operators and asks them to take Mavin to the hospital in the city.

Despite Mavin’s critical condition, the doctors take him to the hospital in the city. On the ride to the hospital, Phupat thinks about his childhood and his fond memories with Mavin. However, Phupat also recalls how badly Mavin treated him. Mavin ends up dying in the ambulance before they can make it to the hospital.

During Mavin’s funeral, Phupat gives an eulogy for his younger brother and states that he will be taking over Theva Gems after his brother’s untimely demise. That night, Krit calls Phupat and confesses that Mavin had blackmailed him into faking Roongroj’s will. Phupat asks Krit to bring their late father’s will back to Thailand.

Phupat loses his mind and tries to punish Araya for what Mavin has done. Padcha asks Phupat to divorce her and give her a share of Theva Gems as per their agreement. Phupat refuses to give Padcha a dime and kicks her out of the house. He tries to assert dominance over the servants and fires the staff when he finds the food unappetizing.

One night, Phupat invites Padchara and Phetye from Gentle Gems over for dinner and asks them to purchase Theva Gems from him. He offers to sell out his house as well. Phupat tells Phetye that he was forced into the diamond business by his father. He reveals that he wants to do as he pleases with his life now that his father is no longer alive.

At the same time, Kaimook meets the cops as Roongroj’s wife and asks them to reinvestigate Roongroj’s death. She insists that the cops exhume his grave to conduct an autopsy. The next day, Krit shows up at the Thevasatitpaisarn family house and learns that Phupat is the only remaining member of the family living there. He shows Phupat a video of Roongroj signing his will.

The video shows Roongroj naming Kaimook as the sole heir of his assets while Kaimook stands beside Roongroj. Phupat is shocked to learn that Kaimook is aware of Roongroj’s will.

Phupat wonders what her true intentions were all along as the episode ends with Kaimook storing one of the dead butterflies in Roongroj’s old office. Now that we are done with the recap of Episode 6 of Master of the House, let’s head on to the review.

The Episode Review

This episode was a complete 180 from what had transpired over the last 5 episodes. From how this one ended, it looks like Kaimook was the one who planned everything and was the person behind Mavin’s death. We know that Shutter is alive but we haven’t seen him, Araya too was tortured and has left the house.

Meanwhile, Kita is in New York while Padcha has left Phupat alone. Given these circumstances, it is likely that Kaimook had planned the downfall of the Thevasatitpaisarn family and I wonder what the reason behind this is. We will only know more in the next episode i.e. the season finale of Master of the House.
