Episode 2
Marry You Episode 2 begins with Ha-na proclaiming that Cheol-hui is her fiancé in front of Gi-jun. Just before that, Gi-jun had already witnessed Cheol-hui leaving his application with Ha-na, so he smirks knowingly and leaves.
Later, Ha-na realizes that Gi-jun is their new team manager, throwing all her façade in the bin. They talk about the project, and Gi-jun then asks Ha-na to have Cheol-hui live in the staff unit so it’s easier for him to go on dates on the mainland.
Later, Ha-na returns to the office to retrieve her phone, which she’d forgotten, and meets Gi-jun. When he tries to stop her from leaving, she tells him that she’s moved on and reveals that she’ll be transferring once Cheol-hui gets married. The next day, Gi-jun shows up unannounced to help Ha-na prepare Cheol-hui’s apartment.
Elsewhere, Cheol-hui and his niece and nephew say goodbye to the islanders and arrive at the apartment. They share a hearty meal together, and as Ha-na is leaving, they run into Gi-jun. Unaware of his identity, Cheol-hui keeps up the façade Ha-na started, only to discover that Gi-jun is her team leader.
The next day, the team begins shortlisting applicants for Cheol-hui’s match, though many have applied only for self-promotional reasons. Eventually, the team selects one applicant and sets up a date. Ha-na helps Cheol-hui shop for a new outfit for his date, accidentally noticing the scars on his back.
On the day of the date, while the team is preparing for the couple to meet, Cheol-hui gets his hair straightened at a salon. Sadly, all his efforts go to waste when he protects Oh In-a, a third-generation chaebol heiress, from clumsy construction workers. Cheol-hui ends up soaked, and his hair reverts to its natural “country bumpkin” state. We also discover that Oh In-a is the woman Gi-jun cheated on Ha-na with. She immediately takes a liking to Gi-jun when he offers her a band-aid for her wound.
Cheol-hui arrives at his date looking disheveled, as his clothes and appearance were ruined on the way. The date seems to go well, but by the end, the couple agrees to remain just friends. Ha-na then takes Cheol-hui to her friend’s restaurant for a home-cooked meal. However, it becomes clear that the couple has different interpretations of a home-cooked meal, highlighting their differing views on marriage.
Elsewhere, Gi-jun meets In-a, and a flashback reveals that Gi-jun deliberately allowed Ha-na to believe he was cheating on her. Meanwhile, In-a reveals she has a new love interest—Gi-jun. The next day, Gi-jun becomes popular when videos of him helping preschool kids go viral. Oh In-a sees the video and recognizes him.
The scene cuts to In-a visiting Cheol-hui at his house, only to be surprised to find Ha-na there, just as Gi-jun also arrives.
The Episode Review
This episode once again puts Lee Yi-kyung in the spotlight with his comedic chops and adorable scenes with his nephew and niece. Clearly, Lee stands out from the other performers with his fantastic assimilation into the role of the kind-hearted islander Cheol-hui.
In terms of the episode, the truth about Gi-jun and Ha-na’s breakup might be more complex than it seems. For what it’s worth, the reason might turn out to be predictable. What’s more intriguing is that In-a’s arrival is bound to ruffle some feathers, and based on the hints, her interactions with Cheol-hui are likely to lead to some interesting moments!
