Level 7-1
Alright, folks, we’ve arrived at the Mystic Forest and this world has metal switches for us to use. Having said that, use the metal switch shown above to change all the conveyor belt’s directions like I did. Then, head to your left and use Mario’s crouch command to squeeze through the tiny gap near the wooden ladder.
Ascend the wooden ladder and head to your left to obtain that red present above the metal switch on the wooden platform. After that, grab your yellow key and activate the metal switch on the wooden platform. Next, head to your right until you touch the dirt structure on your right. Jump and perform Mario’s Up-Throw to toss your key on the highest conveyor belt.
Your key will travel to the right and land on the conveyor belt below the highest one. When it lands on that second platform, activate the same metal switch on the wooden platform. This will allow the key to land on the third conveyor belt. When it lands on the third conveyor belt, activate the metal switch again.
Then, when your key lands on the fourth conveyor belt, activate the metal switch another time. It’ll land near the metal switch on your right instead of the spikey path. When it does, activate the metal switch you’ve been using again. Afterward, head to the yellow key’s area and grab it. When you grab it, activate the metal switch your key was next to.
After that, turn left, and toss it on the conveyor belt on the ground level. That conveyor belt will take your key to the locked door’s location. Chase after your key and make sure to crouch with Mario to navigate through that gap. Next, grab your key and use it to unlock that door.
For the second phase, jump on the yellow spring to land on the conveyor belt next to the Piranha Plant. When you’re on that conveyor belt, perform Mario’s Handstand Jump to reach the second set of conveyor belts. Aim to land on the second one instead of the first one. When you’re on the second conveyor belt, jump to your right and grab the two ropes.
After that, ascend the two ropes. Be careful as there are several Piranha Plants nearby that’ll spit fireballs at you. Ascend the second rope to the top and you’ll end up nabbing the yellow present. Additionally, you’ll be next to a metal switch that’s resting on a wooden platform. Jump to your right and activate that metal switch.
Your screen should mirror the image above. If so, carefully descend the ropes again and leap to your left to land on that conveyor belt that has the blue present on it. When you’re on that conveyor belt, make Mario crouch. You should be able to obtain the blue present afterward. Keep crouching until you reach the ropes on your left.
Jump to your left and grab those ropes. Descend those ropes and use the two small conveyor belts to reach the ropes that were next to the metal switch. When you’re on the second small conveyor belt, leap toward those ropes we used earlier and ascend them. Stop when you’re near the metal switch from earlier. Activate that metal switch.
Once activated, jump to your left and grab those ropes we just used. Then, leap toward the conveyor belt that’s to the right of the Mini-Mario Toy. It’ll take you to that toy. Grab the Mini-Mario Toy. You’ll be presented with this victory screen afterward.
Level 7-2
To start, ascend the ladder on your right. Use the hammer to defeat the Shy Guy on the second floor. After that, use Mario’s Up-Throw to rid yourself of the hammer. After that, ascend the ladder that’s located near the defeated Shy Guy. When you reach the third platform with the Shy Guy on it, jump to the platform with a blue switch on it.
Activate that blue switch and ascend the ladder next to it. When you’re on this phase’s highest floor, navigate Mario to the hammer on your left. Try to avoid touching the two Shy Guys on top. Use the hammer to defeat both Shy Guys as shown in the image below. After that, use Mario’s Up-Throw to dispose of the hammer.
After that, head to your left and nab that red present. After you nab the red present, head to your right and activate the red switch. Then head to the hammer you used earlier and use it to defeat the Shy Guy on your right that’s resting near the blue switch on your right. After that, activate the blue switch that was next to the Shy Guy you just defeated.
Then, drop down to the second wooden platform where the Shy Guy is sleeping. He’ll be near another hammer. Use that hammer to defeat that floor’s Shy Guy. Use Mario’s Up-Throw to rid yourself of the hammer. Then descend that area’s ladder and grab the yellow key. Next, activate the red switch to your left and head for the locked door in the same direction. Unlock the door with your key.
For the next phase, climb the rope that’s near the red switch shown above. Ascend to the top and jump left to activate the yellow switch in that direction. Simultaneously, you’ll nab the blue present. After that head right using the rope you just used. You want to arrive at the rope that’s hanging over that monkey nearby.
Climb that rope until you spot the yellow present that’s hovering to your left. Jump to your left to nab that present. Additionally, grab the ropes that are next to that present. Then, navigate Mario to the left using those ropes and another monkey’s tail. There’s a red switch that’s resting on a grassy platform that we must activate.
Activating the red switch will result in the monkey dropping toward the red blocks. When it does, navigate to the yellow switch that’s resting on a wooden platform above the Mini-Mario Toy. Activate that yellow switch while the monkey is walking over the red blocks. Once activated, head toward this phase’s lowest floor.
When you’re there, activate the red switch on your left. After that, head right and wait for the monkey to come near you. When it does, grab its tale and let it take you to two tiny ropes that are next to another monkey. Refer to the image below for visual assistance.
When you’re near those tiny ropes, navigate Mario toward them. Wait for the second monkey to arrive near you. When it does, navigate Mario to the right so he can grab the monkey’s tail. Let the monkey take you to the red block platform. Drop down and land on that red-block platform. Now, head to the yellow spring and use it to reach the Mini-Mario Toy.
Grab the Mini-Mario Toy. You’ll be presented with this sweet victory screen. Well done!
Level 7-3
For Level 7-3, grab the yellow key and activate the metal switch next to it. Then, toss your key on the bottom conveyor belt and chase after it. Use Mario’s crouch command to fit through that tiny gap near the metal switch on your left. When you and your key make it to the other side, grab your key and jump on the yellow spring to your left.
You want to reach the platform with the yellow switch on it. When you reach that platform activate the yellow switch. Then, jump to your right and land on the platform on your right. When you do, toss your key to the right and crouch with Mario. You’ll both touch a yellow block that’ll appear after you activate the yellow switch.
Like I did, grab your key and jump on that yellow block. Next, you’ll want to jump to your right because there’s a red present on your right that you need to get. After that, activate the metal switch that’ll appear near that invisible and vertical set of red rectangles. Doing so will put the conveyor belts in the same direction I have mine in as shown above.
After that, use the same techniques and key-throwing shenanigans we did to reach the yellow block’s location. Once you return to the same position I have Mario in as shown above, jump and use Mario’s Up-Throw to toss the key on the top conveyor belt shown above. Then, jump to your right and land on the metal switch near the invisible and vertical set of red rectangles.
Next, navigate through the bottom-level conveyor belt using Mario’s crouch command and activate the metal switch near the red switch. Activate the red switch afterward. While the key travels to the locked door via two conveyor belts, use the bottom level conveyor belt and the red ladder on your right to reach that location.
When you arrive near your key and the locked door, use the key to unlock the door.
For the second phase, travel to your left and fall and arrive at the location I have Mario at in the image above. Wait for a Bob-omb to pop up and grab it when it does. Toss it toward the bricks as I did and wait for it to explode. When it does, wait for another Bob-omb to pop up. Grab it and use the yellow spring on your left to reach the second-floor level.
When you reach it, toss the Bob-omb toward your left where the bricks are present. Wait for it to explode. After it explodes, ascend the second-floor ladder and grab a Bob-omb on the third-floor level. Navigate Mario through a gap where two invisible blue squares are present. You’ll land on the second-floor level again.
When you do, navigate to your left and toss the Bob-omb on three horizontal bricks. Wait for it to explode. After it explodes, jump toward those invisible blue bricks on your left and activate the blue switch like I did above. When your screen mirrors mine, ascend the first-floor level’s ladder and head toward those vertical blue blocks on your left.
When you’re those blocks, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump to nab the yellow present. After that, head to your right and ascend the second-floor level’s ladder to the third-floor level.
Before you grab a Bob-omb, head right and nab that blue present shown above. Once you grab that present, go and grab yourself a Bob-omb. Once you do, toss it at the bricks that are covering the Mini-Mario Toy’s location.
Wait for that Bob-omb to explode. When it does, head toward that Mini-Mario Toy’s area and grab it. You’ll be presented with this victory screen afterward. Good job!
Level 7-4
To start, use the yellow spring to land on the platform where the metal switch is present. Activate the metal switch and jump to your right to land on a vertical grey platform. It’ll be moving upward now. Once you’re on one of those, wait until you reach the top. Once you do, jump to your left and use the yellow spring on your left to reach a wooden platform.
There should be a rope above you. T your right, there will be a red present nearby too. Refer to the image below for visual assistance.
Ascend the rope above you to the top and jump to your right to grab the small rope on that side. Be careful of those bat enemies. Then, navigate Mario to your long rope next to the small rope and small wooden platform. Refer to the image above if you’re confused. When you’re using that long rope, descend it and jump to your right to nab the red present.
Simultaneously, grab the small rope next to the red present. Then, navigate Mario to the farthest set of ropes on your right. Once you have those ropes in your grasp, descend them and use the conveyor belts on that side to reach this phase’s ground level. Your screen should look like the image below now.
If so, head to your left and grab that yellow key. Once you grab that yellow key, use the yellow spring to reach the metal switch’s platform. Activate the metal switch. Next, drop to this phase’s ground level and toss your key on the conveyor belt.
Since you used the metal switch, it should be moving in the right direction now. As always, crouch with Mario to reach the right side. Next, grab your key and use the conveyor belts and wooden platforms on this phase’s right side to reach the locked door’s location. Use your key to unlock that door.
For the second phase, head toward the ropes in the middle and ascend them to the top like I did. The cannons on the left and right sides will fire cannon balls at you from vertical and slanted angles. Proceed with caution when you’re ascending these ropes. Anyways, when you’re at the top, navigate Mario to that long rope on the left.
When he has that rope in his grasp, jump to your left to obtain that 1-Up Mushroom. Then jump to your right and descend that same rope to the bottom. When you reach the bottom jump to your left and nab the blue present. Make sure the cannon below the blue present isn’t firing cannon balls upward, too.
After that, drop down this phase’s ground level and use the same long rope in the middle to reach the area shown in the image above. Once there, navigate to your right using the ropes next to the middle long rope. Jump to your right and use the first two ropes on your right to travel near the wooden platform shown above.
Once you’re in a safe jumping range, jump to your left and land on that platform. Then, ascend the rope I’m ascending in the image above. When you have Mario in the same position I have him in, jump to our right and navigate to your right to claim that yellow present.
Once you obtain that yellow present, navigate Mario to the left using the ropes shown above. When you’re using the small rope on your left, jump in that direction and land on the Mini-Mario Toy’s platform shown above, Nab that toy. You’ll be presented with this victory screen afterward. Good job!
Level 7-5
For Level 7-5. navigate Mario to the yellow spring that’s next to the ground-level conveyor belt on your left. Use the yellow spring to reach the second-floor level where a metal switch, yellow spring, and conveyor belt are located. Use the yellow spring on that second-floor level to reach the highest-floor level’s location where the red present is located.
When you’re on that floor level, use the conveyor belt and Mario’s crouch technique to obtain that red present. Keep crouching with Mario until you touch a small grassy structure. To the left of that structure is a yellow key that’s resting on a wooden platform. Jump to your left and grab that key on your left.
After you grab that yellow key, activate the metal switch on your left. Now head right and throw your key on the highest-floor level’s conveyor belt. Like me, make Mario crouch so he can chase after the key. Once you do that, grab your key and head to your right. Use the first conveyor belt to reach this phase’s starting location shown in the first image above.
When you’re on this phase’s ground level, activate the metal switch to your right. After that, turn left and toss your key on that conveyor belt on your left. Once again, crouch with Mario to get through that tight gap. Next, grab your key and head to the left. Use the yellow spring on the far left of you to reach a yellow switch’s location.
Activate that yellow switch. Your screen should look like mine now. If so, head to the that small grassy rock platform near the wooden ladder on your right. Jump on that platform. Then jump upward and perform Mario’s Up-Throw. Your key should be in the spot on the wooden platform above now. If so, ascend the wooden ladder on your left to the top.
Once there, grab the key and activate the metal switch on your left. Now head to your right and toss your key on the conveyor belt on the highest floor level. Use Mario’s crouch technique to chase after the key. Next grab your key and head right. This will be a little weird, so refer to the image below for help on this part.
After you use that conveyor belt, head to the grassy platform that’s near the second grey platform on your right. When you’re on that platform, toss your key on that grey platform. It’ll ricochet a bit and land on the wooden platform like mine did. If so, jump to your left and use the same platform I’m using above to reach the ground level.
Next, activate the metal switch near the wooden ladder. After that, ascend the wooden ladder near the red switch shown above. When you’re near your key, grab it and use the grey platform that’s to the right of the locked door to reach that door. When you do, jump to your left and unlock that door.
For the second phase, head and jump to your left to reach the grassy structure I have Mario at shown above. Use the hammer to wipe out the Shy Guy on that platform and perform Mario’s Up-Throw to get rid of the hammer. Then, to save you time, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump technique while holding the analog stick upward to grab the ropes above.
When you have those ropes in your grasp, navigate to the right using the ropes and monkey’s tail. Next, use the yellow spring on your right to land on a wooden platform. Next, jump on the monkey to your left and wait for him to take you toward a conveyor belt on your left. Jump on that conveyor belt. Then, swiftly jump up and grab a rope above you.
Then, jump to your left and use the hammer to defeat the Shy Guy on your left. Once you do, use Mario’s Up-Throw to get rid of the hammer. Next, use the yellow spring nearby to grab the monkey’s tail. Wait for the monkey to align itself with the yellow spring before you do that. Once you grab the monkey’s tail, let him take you to the yellow present.
When you get that present, jump to your right and land on that grassy platform that’s above the conveyor belt. Then jump to your right and use the ropes and four conveyor belts on your right to reach this phase’s top level. Like the last phase, things can get a little tricky. For your convenience, refer to the image below.
When you reach the fourth conveyor belt, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump technique to reach the wooden platform above. Additionally, you can perform this technique on the third conveyor belt like I did above.
Once you reach that wooden platform, use the hammer to defeat those Shy Guys. While doing so, you’ll likely retrieve that blue present nearby. Once you attain the present and defeat the Shy Guys, perform Mario’s Up-Throw technique to get rid of the hammer. Next, head over to the Mini-Mario Toy and grab it. You’ll receive this victory screen afterward.
Level 7-6
Level 7-6 is a complex one, but we’ll guide you through it. First, wait for a grey platform to arrive near you. When one does, jump on it. Then, as soon as it touches the red blocks shown above, jump on the crumbling bricks. As soon as you land, get Mario into his Handstand Jump position.
Then, perform a Double Handstand Jump to land on the grey platform we were using. Swiftly jump to the other grey platform when yours collides with it. Let the other grey platform take you to a bunch of ropes shown in the image below. When you’re near those ropes, jump and grab them. Ascend the ropes to the top as shown below.
Next, navigate to your right using the ropes in that direction. Jump to your right to obtain the red present and grab those ropes that are to the right of it. When you have those ropes in your possession, head over to the first orange falling block that’s to the left of the invisible blue structure. Use that falling block and the one next to it to reach the crumbling bricks pathway.
Next, head to your right and drop toward a wooden platform on your right. A blue switch will be resting on this platform. Activate that blue switch and wait for the crumbling bricks to reappear. When they do, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump to land on them. Then, perform the Double Handstand Jump again to land on the yellow key’s platform.
Grab the yellow key and use the orange falling blocks on your left to travel to the orange falling block that’s above the yellow present. Wait for that orange falling block to drop you toward that present so you can attain it. Now, you should be on the grassy structure again.
If so, wait for a grey platform to arrive and jump on it when it’s near you. Let it take you toward the blue platform with the ladder attachment. Jump on the blue platform. Now, head to the locked door’s location using the orange falling block that’s next to it. Once you’re near that door, use your key to unlock it.
For the second phase, ascend the wooden ladder to your left. Once you reach the platform with a Bob-omb cannon, wait for a Bob-omb to pop out of it. Grab the Bob-omb and toss it in the area I put mine in. When it explodes, head for that 1-Up Mushroom and obtain it. Next, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump to land on the wooden platform on the left.
Perform the technique again to reach the wooden platform with the yellow spring on it. Use the yellow spring to land on another wooden platform with a yellow spring. Repeat this procedure to reach another platform with a yellow spring. Be careful when you’re using these yellow springs because there are cannons that fire cannonballs from vertical and titled directions.
To save you time, use the final yellow spring to leap toward the blue present on your right as I did. You’ll want to tilt your analog stick to the right to nab the present. As soon as you get it, tilt your analog stick slightly to the left. That way, you’ll land on the yellow spring’s wooden platform. When you do, use that same yellow spring to reach the small ladder shown above.
Hold your analog stick upward after you jump from the yellow spring. This will help you grab that small ladder. Once you grab it, ascend it. Now, activate that blue switch on your left and descend the blue ladder that’ll appear on your right. When you’re on that blue ladder’s platform, descend to the area shown below.
You’ll be near the yellow spring shown above. If so, use the blue ladder shown above to reach the area next to the Bob-omb’s cannon. Wait for a Bob-omb to pop out and grab it. Then, travel to your left and land on the wooden platform where I have Mario placed in the image above. Jump and perform Mario’s Up-Throw to get the Bob-omb on that blue platform.
The Bob-omb should explode and destroy the crumbling blocks that are guarding the Mini-Mario Toy. When the Bob-omb explodes and decimates those blocks, perform Mario Double Handstand Jump twice in the area I have him at in the image above. You should be able to reach the Mini-Mario Toy’s location by doing this.
As always, grab the Mini-Mario Toy when you reach its location. You’ll receive this lovely victory screen in return. Now let’s-a-tackle that Mini-Mario Level.
Mini-Mario Level
Time to escort these little guys to the Mini-Mario Toy Chest. First navigate to your right and wait for a Bob-omb pop up from the cannon near the ladder to your right. Grab and toss the Bob-omb at a pile of crumbling blocks. To save you time, ascend that wooden ladder to the wooden platform above and wait for the Bob-omb to explode.
After it detonates, travel to your right. Like the image above, the Mini-Mario Toys will net you the T-Letter Box. After that, grab a Bob-omb who’ll appear on your right and toss him to the far right side. Additionally, wait at that far right side of your screen. This will persuade the Mini-Mario Toys to use the yellow spring on the floor’s ground level.
Once your Mini-Mario Toys arrive near you, wait for another Bob-0mb to appear from that second floor level’s cannon. Grab and toss him at the crumbling blocks like I did above. Wait for the Bob-omb to explode. When it does, wait for another Bob-omb to appear on that floor level.
When one does, grab them and head to the same location I have Mario placed in the image above. Jump and perform Mario’s Up-Throw to toss the Bob-0mb near those crumbling blocks that are next to the O-Letter Box. When that explodes, ascend the second floor level’s ladder. When you’re on the highest floor level, navigate Mario to the left.
By doing that, the Mini-Mario Toys will net you the Y-Letter Box. After they get that for you, drop toward the location shown above. Activate that area’s blue switch and perform Mario’s Handstand Jump to reach the grassy platform shown above. After you land on that platform, travel to the wooden ladder we used earlier and descend it.
You should be with your Mini-Mario Toys now. If so, travel to your right. To avoid getting harmed by a Bob-omb, grab it and toss it to the far right portion of your screen. Next, use that area’s yellow spring to propel yourself to the area near the blue blocks. Wait in the far right corner of your screen. This will persuade the Mini-Mario Toys to use that yellow spring to reach you.
When all your Mini-Mario Toys are near you, descend the ladder and head left. Don’t worry, your Mini-Mario Toys won’t enter the Mini-Mario Toy Chest. When you’re on the second floor level, grab the new Bob-omb that’ll appear and toss it to the far right side. Then, ascend this floor level’s ladder that’s to the left of you.
You should now be on the highest floor level and next to your toys. If so, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump to land on the grassy platform that the Mini-Mario Toy Chest is resting on. If so, travel to your right. Like the image above, the Mini-Mario Toys will net you the O-Letter Box.
With all the letterboxes collected, it’s time to head for that Mini-Mario Toy Chest. First, travel to the area shown above. When you’re there, perform Mario’s Double Handstand Jump to land on the grassy platform that’s near the ropes.
When you’re on it, travel to the wooden ladder and descend it. Now, you should be with your Mini-Mario Toys. If so, travel to your right and grab that pesky Bob-omb who’ll appear in that area. After that, use the yellow spring to propel yourself to the highest floor level. Refer to the image below for this next part.
When you’re on the wooden platform shown above, toss the Bob-omb to your right to get rid of it. Next, place Mario in the same area where I have him placed. Wait for you Mini-Mario Toys to reach your location.
Remember, they’ll be using the yellow spring to reach you. When they do, head to the Mini-Mario Toy Chest on your left. Wait for you toys to enter the chest. When they’re all inside, grab the chest. You’ll be presented with this lovely victory screen afterward.
Mystic Forest – Donkey Kong Boss Fight |
||
As you can see from the image above, this Donkey Kong battle leans more into the technical side of things. Essentially, Donkey Kong will be throwing Bob-ombs at you while pressing the metal switch in front of him. Activating this switch causes the metal platforms on the left and right to change directions. He’ll be doing both actions constantly throughout this fight. Fortunately, nothing will drop from the top of the screen, but you’ll want to be wary of those pesky Bob-ombs and conveyor belts though. To defeat Donkey Kong, grab a Bob-omb and use the conveyor belts on either side to reach Donkey Kong. When you’re near him, jump and throw a Bob-omb at him. If you happen to be on one of the higher conveyor belts and he activates the metal switch, don’t panic. Simply, move Mario in the opposite direction. This will help you in the balance department. Also, do not touch the Bob-ombs on the left or right side. Instead, jump on top of them and grab them. This’ll help you avoid danger. As long as you follow those tips and throw four Bob-ombs at Donkey Kong, you’ll defeat him. |
As always, defeating Donkey Kong results in him throwing a swift tangent. Then, he grabs his sack of Mini-Mario Toys and flees the scene. Mario chases after him. This concludes the Mystic Forest portion of the game.
