Singer Maggie Lindemann breaks conventions on her record Headsplit, a collection of songs baring everything. It’s a record that can sadden, but Lindemann has the strength to navigate through the gloom, just.

This is intelligent songwriting that shows vulnerability. The darkness comes in frantically, playing to a world that has become sick to its core, while fragments of it float through the air.

Pessimism cuts through this record that isn’t all roses and rainbows. This titan of her genre shares her darkest secrets and screams for validation and hope. Broken inside, she expresses her pain as she roars and shrieks at the world.

Her music is atmospheric and sometimes ruthless. Lindemann uses her beautiful voice to dazzle and command, while fear rattles inside her. The songs are all interwoven, telling a brilliantly woven story within its integrated fable.

‘Die For’ begins with a powerful guitar moment and Lindemann sings beautifully about being haunted. The chorus propels the track as Lindemann thinks about dying young.

‘You Hold My Love’ is another insightful track. Lindemann sings about her weaknesses in a creative manner, showcasing her wordplay effectively. The atmospheric sound pulses.

‘Hostage’ starts with clean vocals. Lindemann again sings decisively about her pain. The chorus is infectious and highly evocative, pushing her to the edge of insanity.

Maggie Lindemann is a talent, a fiery and tenacious songstress who knows pain first-hand.
