Love Between Fairy and Devil Season 1

Based on Cang Lan Jue by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang, Love Between Fairy and Devil is an iQIYI Original, the second from their ‘Sweet On’ collection.

The show features Dylan Wang as the evil Demon Prince Dongfang Qingcang, who eradicates the fairy race. 10,000 years later, one of the holy fairies is reincarnated as the lowly fairy Xiao Lan Hua (played by Esther Yu).

Xiao Lan Hua accidentally frees the imprisoned Dongfang Qingcang, who wants to sacrifice the young fairy to remove the seal on himself and truly be free.

In the process though, the two get to know each other better, and the ruthless demon finds himself falling in love with the gentle and adorable fairy. Across the 36 episodes, expect the relationship between these two characters to grow and evolve, with plenty of romance, fantasy and drama to boot.

Where Can I Watch Love Between Fairy and Devil?

Love Between Fairy and Devil is available to stream on iQIYI and are set up as full episodes, so there’s no messing about with different parts on YouTube. However, do note that you’ll need a VIP account with iQIYI in order to access the later (and more recently released) episodes with this one.

You can actually check out the series HERE on iQIYI’s official site. Do note that a standard VIP pass is required to watch the more recent episodes, which costs £4.99 a month.

Alternatively, this is also available to watch in some regions on Viki too. Do note that much like iQIYI, you will need a Vikipass Standard account to watch beyond episode 10.

Love Between Fairy and Devil Episode Release Dates

Love Between Fairy and Devil is a Chinese drama and as such, the episode release dates are a little different to those released in other Asian regions. We’ll detail that more below but do note that the subtitle team are pretty quick on iQIYI, with English subtitles available from release. On Viki, these are slightly delayed.

Expect each episode to be roughly 43 minutes long, with 2 new episodes dropping every day of the week!

How Many Episodes Will Love Between Fairy and Devil Have?

Love Between Fairy and Devil is a 36 episode Chinese drama, which is about average as most of these shows have between 35 and 50 episode runs. After dropping 6 episodes at once on Sunday 7th August, the remaining episode schedule sees 2 new episodes dropping every day for the rest of the month. Episodes 35 and 36 close out the show on August 29th.

Two episodes release at once at 1pm (GMT) / 8pm (SGT) / 6am (PT) each day. Expect iQIYI to be first off the mark for dropping these on their website, with Viki not far behind that time!

  1. There has to be a season 2! Season 1 ended perfectly, however there seems a lot that could be done and answered. First of all, we need to see the “glazed fire” in effect. What will make of Orchid and Moon Supreme, and the fairy/moon tribe? Did they ever end up getting married? Is lady arbiter ever getting out of that place? Does lord chengheng ever move on? Maybe with Danyin? If not, does Danyin ever move on? Evil qi’s resurrection?

    So many questions! I’m sure we can all imagine the rest in our head as to how we’d want it to play out, but WE. WANT. MOORE!!! Chinese Dramas know how to pull your heart strings

  6. I SERIOUSLY need a season 2, granted the ending was pretty good, but, COME ON!!!! There are so many good ideas/grasps for more episodes. Does Quingqang take the throne back, or does he leave it to Xunfeng? If he comes back, does anyone complain? What about Orchid? Does she come with him? If so, what about Arbiter hall and the destiny books? If Quingqang chooses not to be Moon Supreme anymore, will there be problems? What will he do? Is Changheng a mortal, or is he an immortal living in the mortal world? What does that mean? Does he age at the pace of Yunmeng Lake or the pace of Shuiuntian? Does he ever fall for anyone else, or does he stay hooked to Orchid forever? Does Danyin become the god of war? Are Jieli and Shangque married? If not, do they get married? Did they adopt the children we see her scolding or are they fostering/running a daycare etc. for them? Does the Xishan realm stay empty or do people move there? Does Orchid ever visit Lady Arbiter? Does she ever get temporarily stuck there? What happened to the place Ronghao was operating out of? How well in touch does everybody keep? Did Orchid’s flowers ever cultivate into person form? And these are just off the top of my head, building on previous things in the show. I’m sure that the creators could come up with plenty more stuff on top of this. Some of these are super obvious, but I’d still like a definite answer. Gist: I NEED MORE!!!!! I’d also prefer it if future episodes were not disappointing, if that is the case, I’d rather it stop now. But it seems like a show that would be pretty easy to keep up. As long as the cast and crew are on board. Granted, I’m not at all related to film stuff (other than watching and the “occasional” screaming fit) but I’d be on my fourth or fifth round of the show if I didn’t want to wear it out, so I think that as long as the maker people had the support, there could easily be AT LEAST one more season.

  12. I am at awe by the shear story of the fairy,moon supreme, and god of war ! I really hope that we get at least one more episode to see what happens once he is reborn. The love, the betrayals, the primordial spirit is all beautiful. This is wonderful (: any suggestions to watch that are similar ?

  14. I got hooked after the first episode. Then like everyone else on Netflix gutted when I realised there were 36 episodes not just 6 and still waiting. Finally that put up release dates but they should mentioned it at the beginning. Grrr from this hopeless romantic. Next time I’ll do homework before watching. Excellent story huge fan.

  30. Please tell me that there will be more episodes coming soon on Netflix. I have watched the full 24 available in my country and the ending of episode 24 was the most dramatic cliffhanger I have ever seen. I need to see the full 36 (?) or more in season one, and a second season. Come on Netflix, listen to your subscribers!!   35. I ve been watching “Love between Fairy and Devil on Netflix BUT there’s ONLY 18 episode to watch when it’s a 35 episode show!! How and why was that done?? So now I go to “you tube” to watch the rest of the episodes and their broke down to maybe 5 min per episode! Very unfair to air a show that is NOT complete either in Netflix or YouTube!! I’m not going to pay an extra 5 dollars on the Chinese network to watch the remainder of the show! I pay enough to Netflix!!

  37. I wasn’t fun of watching Chinese show. I was curious about the title, and the good looking picture, so I tried watching the episode 1. Then, I couldn’t stop watching. I fall in love with the story and all the characters in it. I couldn’t wait for Netflix to download just 2 episodes everyday. I don’t want the story to come to an end. Please make season two or more. I love this show a lot!
