Love Andante (2024) – K-drama Episode 8 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Until We Meet Again

Love Andante episode 8 picks up where we left off, with Gyeong-ho comforting an inconsolable Ju-hui. Na-gyeong and Ju-hyeong spot the two and wonder when they grew so close. However, Gyeong-ho quickly pulls back from J-hui and tries to explain himself. At the same time, the doctors walk by, but they don’t think much about the interaction.

What happens to Ju-hui?

She is worried about being kicked out of the project, but luckily everyone agrees she made a mistake and has suffered enough. Jun-mo orders her to be more careful and the matter is laid to rest. She and Gyeong-ho become closer and start dating. As the project comes to an end, she asks Gyeong-ho to promise not to forget her. She confesses her feelings and even though Gyeong-ho is not vocal about his feelings, he still shows them through his actions.

What happens to the billage?

Once the project wraps up after a year, the residents say their goodbyes. The doctors finally confess their feelings and start dating. A few months before the Peace Village project ends, a wild boar steps on an old war minefield and leads to the discovery of 70-year-old skeletal remains. It is discovered that the remains belong to people who went missing during the Korean War and their families are able to get closure. This incident draws more attention to the Peace Village project, but everyone remains hopeful that it will be declared a success.

On the final day, Baby Tong II is reunited with his parents and they are able to take him home. It is sad to watch the residents say their goodbyes and hope to meet again. As they return to their normal lives, there is an air of uncertainty and hope that they will meet again.

How is the situation between Ju-hyeong and Na-gyeong resolved?

The two spend their final days in the Peace Village feeling grateful to one another. They make promises not to forget each other and meet again. Ju-hyeong gives Na-gyeong a necklace and promises to wait for her. Two years later, Na-gyeong travels to Tokyo, Japan to see Ju-hyeong’s concert. However, she doesn’t approach him even though she knows he is around. The episode ends with Ju-hyeong coincidentally spotting her outside his concert venue.

The Episode Review

What a disappointing finale! The ending felt too rushed, especially for the side couples on the show. I don’t understand why the writers didn’t utilise the supporting characters more. They had a chance to make the show better but ruined it. Ju-hui’s and Gyeong-ho’s love story would have been great if the writers added more depth to their story.

Even the main couple’s ending was unsatisfying. Do they get back together or only spend time in Japan for a while? Is there hope for them to be together in the long run? Ending the show with a cliffhanger felt lazy and cliché. This was supposed to be a story about love and hope, but ultimately we didn’t see the happy ending we wanted.
