Love Andante (2024) – K-drama Episode 5 Recap & Review

The Unexpected Guest 

Love Andante episode 5 starts with Ju-hyeong and Na-gyeong waiting for the car to charge. They watch the stars and Na-gyeong talks about missing her mom. Ju-hyeong tells her about his wish to get some rest and asks about hers. She sadly admits that her wish is yet to come true, so he offers to do everything on her bucket list.  

Na-gyeong is shocked and moved that he wants to do things with her. Her stomach starts to grumble, and he offers her some chocolate. They are just about to kiss when the car loudly beeps to notify them it is fully charged. They later head home together and Ju-hui sees them. The next few days, Ju-hyeong helps Na-gyeong at the farm. He keeps teasing her and they have lots of fun playing around. Once again, Ju-hui and Gyeong-ho witness the couple’s sweet moments. Ju-hui is all for the couple dating, but Gyeong-ho is concerned.

The next day, Ju-hyeong borrows Jun-mo’s car and asks for a gate pass. He takes Na-gyeong on a heartwarming date in the local town. They write their wishes and enjoy some good food. They talk about their life experiences while travelling. Even though she doesn’t say it out loud, Na-gyeong admits she loves Ju-hyeong and wishes for a quick reunification. Ju-hyeong feels the same since he wants to be with Na-gyeong after the year wraps up 

Meanwhile, back at the village, Jun-mo and the other staff organize a movie night. Unfortunately, the TV screen is broken, so they opt for a white wall projection at Ju-hyeong’s house. Jun-mo is sure that Ju-hyeong won’t get mad since those were the terms they agreed on when he borrowed the car and asked for a pass. However, Ju-hyeong was under the assumption that they would watch a different movie and had no idea it would be at his house. 

He and Na-gyeong are shocked when they get home and find the movie about to start. All the residents cry as they watch the touching movie. Later, Ju-hyeong apologises to Na-gyeong because he wanted them to watch a different movie, but she says it is okay. The two are getting closer and have come to understand each other, even without words.

Unfortunately, trouble arises when Ju-hyeong’s label manager sends Chan Yeong to kidnap Ju-hyeong from the peace village. The manager is scared since he could not cancel Ju-hyeong’s Europe tour and is expected to pay a huge fine. He is on the verge of being bankrupt, and for unknown reasons; he thought kidnapping Ju-hyeong was the solution!

Thankfully, Gyeong-ho spots Chan Yeong lurking around Ju-hyeong’s house in the early morning. He notifies Na-gyeong and they quickly hide Chan Yeong inside. They all worry that if Chan Yeong is caught, they will face heavy consequences. After stressing about it, Na-gyeong comes up with a plan. She asks Ju-hyeong to act normally and they decide to help Chan Yeong escape the village later that night. Even though Gyeong-ho is against the plan, Na-gyeong insists he helps

The Episode Review

How did Ju-hyeong’s manager think sending Chan Yeong to the peace village to kidnap Ju-hyeong would solve his problems? It makes absolutely no logical sense, but this is a K-Drama, so we will let it slide. We can only hope the issue will be resolved quietly because lives are at stake if Chan Yeong is discovered. Ju-hyeong’s career will be over, but Gyeong-ho and Na-gyeong could be sentenced to death. It was very selfish of the manager to not think things through.

Aside from the Chan Yeong drama, it was fun watching Na-gyeong and Ju-hyeong fall deeper in love. They make an adorably cute couple. Sadly, they only have a few months left at the Peace Village. What will happen when the project ends?
