Lootere – Season 1 Episode 2 “Besieged” Recap & Review

Besieged

At the start of Besieged episode 2, we find AK Singh and his men now being held hostage by Barkhand and his group. When the task force arrives to help, they are threatened by the pirates not to intervene or risk the crew’s safety. Despite having the pirates in their sights, the task force is ordered to stand down and return to base. Barkhand orders his men to search for the rest of the crew but warns against killing anyone.

Meanwhile, Vikrant confronts Bilal upon learning that he has hired pirates to stop the ship. Vikrant angrily warns Bilal that if anything happens to his valuable cargo, he’ll ensure Bilal never sees the light of day again. However, Bilal soothes Vikrant that everything is under control and that he’ll receive his consignment the following day.

Armed with automatic AK47s, the pirates search the vessel for crew members. During their search, they come across a wounded engineer in the engine room. Meanwhile, AK attempts to bribe Barkhand for their release, but Barkhand refuses and demands that AK start the ship. AK explains that the engine is malfunctioning and needs to be fixed. When Barkhand threatens to kill Mudit, AK reluctantly agrees to have his engineers repair the ship.

During the chaos, a few crew members, including Ruhan, come out of hiding to retrieve the crew list before it falls into the pirates’ hands. Ruhan destroys the list but is eventually captured and taken to the helm, where AK and others are being held.

Vikrant accompanies Bilal to the place where his consignment is expected to arrive. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Ajay Kotwal learns from his employee that his ship has been hijacked by Somali pirates. Ajay’s reaction screams the seriousness of the situation, and Ajay asks his employee to make sure his father doesn’t know about the hijacking. Ajay then calls Vikrant, who assures him that he is handling the matter. Vikrant warns Ajay to speak to him respectfully, or risk having all business dealings with Ajay’s shipping company cancelled.

About 200 kilometres from the port of Harardhere, Vikrant receives a call from Tawfiq, who offers to sway the voters in Vikrant’s favour in exchange for one million dollars. Tawfiq also reveals that he is aware that Vikrant is in in Harardhere, trying to recover his shipment.

After fixing the engine, Barkhand orders AK Singh to steer the ship towards the port of Harardhere. AK agrees, but only if Barkhand promises not to harm his crew. When no one is looking, AK comes up with a plan to take over the ship once night falls. He knows the pirates won’t kill them because they won’t get paid if they do.

Later, Ruhan manages to grab one of the pirates and tells the others to leave the ship immediately. However, Koombe, one of the pirates, drags Mudit outside and points his gun at him, demanding that Ruhan throw down his weapons. When Ruhan refuses, Koombe shoots Mudit, killing him. Barkhand realizes he needs more help to keep the crew at bay in case a similar incident occurs. Thus, he contacts one of his associates and requests armed reinforcements.

The Episode Review

Episode 2 was just as captivating and interesting as the first one! We meet a new character, Ajay Kotwal, who seems to be Vikrant’s partner in crime. Ajay’s a rich kid who uses his dad’s business to help Vikrant with his shady deals.

Looking ahead, it seems like Barkhand might be planning something sneaky. He asks for backup near the end, which could just be a precaution, or he might be plotting to take over the whole operation. Who knows what’s going on in his head?
