What is Let’s Get Divorced (Rikon Shiyou Yo) about?

The show follows the story of Shoji Taishi, a new third-generation lawmaker who comes from a family of politicians and has had a sheltered upbringing. He is a womaniser and not particularly intelligent. Taishi’s wife is actress Kurosawa Yui, who got her big break from a drama series. The couple has been married for five years and acts like a happily married couple for the sake of their work and public image.

However, their marriage has already broken down because Taishi and Yui barely have a conversation except when live streaming on social media for Yui’s fans. The couple never see each other at home and because of their differences, have grown disenchanted in their marriage.

Since they cannot get divorced immediately due to pressure from their families and endorsement deals, the couple has no choice but to unite with the unshakeable goal of getting a divorce.
