Lambrini Girls propel here with their debut album Who Let The Dogs Out. The tenacious band packs in stylish riffs and energy to create a bourgeoning atmosphere, while telling us how worse the world is getting. Their lyrical leanings are frantic, often explicit, but they are only expressing their feelings. These feelings are embedded in the fabric of the act, and they don’t do things by halves.

This in-your-face drama is riveting, and the band searches for clarity in such a destructive world. They describe dealings with men who have taken liberties, convey through their writings the state of decay, and tell us their mental woes. From the start to the swansong, it is all frenetic in an honest fashion.

‘Bad Apple’ starts the album with a crushing guitar riff and perfect percussion. The vocals are fast and volatile, and the song is expressed with desire. The band shows their rage here.

‘Nothing Tastes As Good As It Feels’ depicts a girl in pain. Mental instability is explored and the band describes an eating disorder in such a vivid way. The riff is punk personified.

‘You’re Not From Around Here’ adopts a great riff. The vocal work again is breakneck, and the themes surround a broken society. The instrumentals are frantic yet again, but diverse in their output.

‘Love’ begins with scratchy instrumentals but they are pivotal. The chorus bursts with intensity. This is not a true love story but one that pays homage to bad decisions.

Lambrini Girls strike reality on their debut and the songs are cohesive while telling stories. It is a complete debut by the thrilling, outspoken act.
