What Happened In Episode 2?

Laid-Back Camp Season 3 Episode 2 follows Ayano who camps atop a hill briefly before going to a store to purchase an item. She seeks help from the store’s cashier and the cashier recommends Ayano purchase a pocket stove. Ayano visits a beach and uses her pocket stove to make hot chocolate. While doing that, Ayano reflects on her promise to Rin and believes it’d be great to go tour camping.

While Ayano researches items via her phone, we cut away to Nadeshiko, Chiaki, and Aoi arriving at Ena’s place. Ena and Chikuwa greet the girls. She asks the three to set up the yard camping equipment. While they’re doing that, she plans to fetch some proper attire. After the girls finish setting up camp, Ena and Chikuwa come outside. Ena sets up Chikuwa’s camping gear and the girls find it all adorable.

Then, Ena asks Chiaki to sit in a chair because she wants to cut her hair. After the girls pitch several hairstyles, Ena settles on shortening Chiaki’s hair. Meanwhile, we cut away to Ayano setting up a new tent outside her home. After that, she texts Rin and we return to the scene alluded to in the prior episode’s cliffhanger. During this texting fiasco, Ayano asks Rin to go tour camping with her.

Next, we return to following Ena, Nadeshiko, and the others engaging in some food prep activities involving Chiaki’s ground meat she brought. After turning the meat into sausages, the girls head to Ena’s front yard to cook it. They use the same device they used during the Christmas camping trip. Since there’s another pan available, Nadeshiko pours her meat on it and cooks it.

Once both meals are fully cooked, the girls try Chiaki’s meat. They find the taste revolting. Chiaki tries it and shares a similar stance as her friends. Unlike Chiaki’s meat, everyone finds Nadeshiko’s sausage wonderful. Chiaki wonders what went wrong and Nadeshiko researches why and presents the intel to Chiaki. While disappointed, Chikuwa wanders toward Chiaki, asking her to take him for a walk.

Ena feels they should all head somewhere with their chairs. The girls visit a grassy terrain and discuss topics surrounding flower-viewing camping and DIY projects. Then, Chiaki, Aoi, Nadeshiko, and Ena return to Ena’s place, with the three girls bidding Ena and Chikuwa farewell. Minutes later, Chiaki, Aoi, and Nadeshiko arrive at the train station. Chiaki and Aoi depart, leaving Nadeshiko alone.

While alone, Nadeshiko reflects on prior camping experiences and wonders if she should go solo camping soon. Then, Ayano and Rin text Nadeshiko, informing her that they plan to go tour camping. Before they go, Rin says she and Ayano will be driving around Igawa. Nadeshiko says she’s okay with being alone as she wanted to go solo camping anyway.

After Ayano promises Nadeshiko she’ll bring hamburg steaks to their outing, the episode closes with Nadeshiko arriving home.
