Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight – Season 3 Episode 19 Recap, Review and Ending Explained

The Dragon Knights Part 2

Episode 19 of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 3 begins with the ancient army being retrieved from the battlefield as Alfie figures out it is only a distraction. Earthquakes and storms erupt as the elements are thrown off balance.

How does Klaus summon the Ancient Masters?

Klaus begins meditating to summon the ancient masters. Alfie catches wind of this and sends his sentinels against Po. He proceeds to attack Klaus, holding him at the tip of his sword. Just then Blade arrives and blocks Alfie’s strike. Klaus manages to escape and Alfie sends his sentinels to find him.

Klaus is eventually found by the sentinels. Blade faces off against Alfie and the two engage in a sword fight. He uses the wind helmet to blow Blade’s sword away and activates the gauntlet. Just then Po uses his sneak attack, pulls out the thumb from the gauntlet, propels Alfie towards him, and kicks him away.

As Klaus runs, he hears the shadow of Veruca calling out to him but realizes it’s only a trap and runs. He runs off to Lady Lucinda and the others to hide. Alfie catches wind of Po’s trick and uses the other weapons against them. The dark army manages to corner Klaus and the others, but Po grabs the sword just in time causing Klaus and the others to be released.

Veruca helps Klaus meditate and summon the ancient masters while Po and Blade hold Alfie back.

Why does Alfie give up the Tianshang Weapons?

Po and Blade struggle to fight Alfie as the weapons are too powerful. Alfie fights Po and takes back the sword. As Alfie approaches Blade, their mother steps in between, but Alfie uses the wind helmet to push her away.

Blade approaches Alfie and expresses her disappointment. She challenges him to accept his mistakes. Just then the Ancient arrive and tell him about the atrocities he has brought over the world causing it to collapse. Po and the others beg them to do something to keep it together. Alfie realizes his mistake and stands down.

How do the Ancient Masters restore the Elemental Balance in the world?

Po requests the masters to do exactly like they did and split the continents with the help of the weapons. The group descends onto land and initiates the process. Klaus summons the ancient masters once again but they warn them that they have only one chance as the weapons will be destroyed and they will lose the ancient masters, Alfie and Veruca.

They bid their last goodbyes and begin with the process. They arm their weapons and strike the earth with each one while the masters meditate. This causes a swirl of all the elements as the weapons and the masters get sucked in. The elements are restored and the continents finally return to their respective places.

Blade returns to England and is made Head of the Knights and Master of War, but she chooses to hand over the title to Colin. Akna returns to making toys and Rukmini returns to her loved ones. Forouzan and Ping capitalize on international fame and start their noodle shop. Meanwhile, Po gets a best friend and pursues his dream of eating the best food worldwide.

The Episode Review

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight finally comes to an end with its third and final season with episode 19. The animated series delivers a thrilling dose of action and also manages to elicit a few laughs as the Dragon Knights strive to collect and destroy the Tianshang weapons to save the world from eternal doom.

The ending puts Alfie in a very precarious position as he nearly destroys the entire world due to his shortsightedness. However, at the same time, his intentions aren’t evil. This raises a lot of question marks regarding the morality of resolving such a grave issue peacefully. Nonetheless, it can also be interpreted as the series cherishing the flaw of a soft spot in an emotional way.

Unfortunately, the series has suffered throughout due to its failure to deliver on what the show claims in its main title, “Kung Fu Panda.” The representation of kung fu throughout the series is disappointingly low, and the series doesn’t live up to having Panda in the title, as everything in the series seems to revolve around Blade.

If you were hoping that at least the ending would make it worth it, we’re sorry to break the bad news, but it’s a huge disappointment and a letdown for most fans.
