Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 37

Chapter 266 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins with Megumi chatting with Yuji. Megumi tells Yuji that he wanted to create a proper world for Tsumiki. If not, Megumi wanted to preserve his and her fragile existence. He explains what this world would’ve looked like from its food to its atmosphere.

Yuji tells Megumi he’s done enough and delves into detail about his grandfather’s sickness. He argues he grew to understand what his grandfather went through when confronting the harsh reality he was in. Yuji ends his lecture, telling Megumi that he has a right to live. Then, we continue observing Yuji’s battle with Sukuna.

Sukuna uses his Hollow Wicker Basket technique to prevent himself from getting overpowered by Yuji’s domain. He and Yuji exchange punches and Sukuna tosses Yuji across the battleground. Sukuna tells Yuji he’s not happy he pitied him in his domain. He says this fueled his desire to make Yuji and his friends suffer.

Then, we receive a scene featuring an older Yuji chatting with a young Megumi. Yuji tells Megumi he misses him. In the present, Sukuna gets trapped in one of his own shadows and Yuji punches Sukuna. Sukuna retaliates by grabbing Yuji and punching him consecutive times. The two continue exchanging blows.

Sukuna performs a Domain Expansion and we receive a panel with Yuji. Half of his pinky and ring finger are missing. Then, we receive a shot of a building. The chapter ends with a shot of Sukuna’s finger bound by a string in this building. 

The Chapter Review

After Yuji’s cruel fighting words in Chapter 265, the battle of sorcerers continues in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 266. This one featured Sukuna utilizing interesting tricks to counter Yuji’s various attacks. From common martial arts moves to his Hollow Wicker Basket technique, fans will enjoy seeing the King of the Curses give it his all. 

At the same time, Megumi’s character returns to the narrative. While Megumi’s soul is still under Sukuna’s control, it’s nice seeing him and Yuji chat again. With Nobara seemingly out of the picture, fans will be grateful to see Yuji interact with a close friend who isn’t long gone. 

Hopefully, Yuji can find a way to separate Megumi’s soul from Sukuna. The shot at the end will leave many fans curious and others speculating about the significance of it all. It’s a great way to keep this one-on-one match captivating from a thought-provoking point of view. 

But all in all, this was a decent chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. It gave action junkies a visually appealing throwdown between our hero and villain. Also, it gave Megumi fans some love. Hopefully, Gege Akutami can give this story arc a proper conclusion.
