Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 36

Chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins where we left off in Chapter 263 with Hana (Angel) using Jacob’s Ladder against Sukuna. Sukuna punches the ground. He climbs the crumbling rocks surrounding him. He wants to reach Angel without anyone harming him. Sukuna appears behind Angel. Sukuna attempts to harm Angel with a Black Flash, but Todo blocks Sukuna’s attack.

Sukuna’s Black Flash sends Todo and Angel to the ground. This leaves Yuji and Sukuna as the final people standing on the battlefield (as of now). Sukuna and Yuji fight. During the fight, the narrator says Sukuna regained his Reverse Cursed Technique. Nonetheless, the two continue exchanging punches. After we receive a flashback of Satoru’s fight with Jogo, Yuji performs his unnamed Domain Expansion technique.

Sukuna finds himself at a train station and wonders what happened. Then, Yuji confronts Sukuna and tells him they’ll be going somewhere. Sukuna is no longer in his Megumi-infused body. He’s currently in his Yuji-infused state. The chapter ends with Sukuna wondering what’s going on. 

The Chapter Review

Will Yuji use his words to convince Sukuna to end his rampage? Will Sukuna find another way around Yuji’s Domain Expansion? Find out in the next chapter of Jujustu Kaisen. Jokes aside, this chapter was interesting. As with past chapters, Sukuna finds a way around a situation where the odds aren’t stacked in his favor.

While this trend has gotten old, there’s hope that Yuji’s Domain Expansion will stop Sukuna’s rampage. Also, it was nice seeing Todo and Angel assist Yuji in combating Sukuna. While this entire arc has gone on far longer than it needed to, some will enjoy seeing supporting characters get their shot in the spotlight. Unfortunately, their efforts didn’t amount to much, besides tiring Sukuna out. 

Additionally, the chapter has some stellar action segments. From characters colliding into buildings to them exchanging lethal blows, readers will appreciate this chapter’s wonderful visuals. All in all, this was a fine chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. It was neat seeing Yuji’s Domain Expansion and the action segments were visually satisfying. 

At the same time, one can’t help but feel this arc didn’t live up to its greatest potential. Nonetheless, we’re optimistic the upcoming chapters will give fans fabulous results.
