Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262.2 Recap & Review

Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 34-2

Chapter 262.2 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins with Yuta fighting Sukuna. While fighting Sukuna, Yuta says he can’t use any other Cursed Technique besides Limitless. Additionally, Yuta says that Sukuna can’t use any other Cursed Technique to defeat his Limitless technique. The only technique Sukuna can use against the Limitless technique would be his Amplification technique.

At the same time, Yuta remarks that it’ll be difficult for Yuta to master Limitless. He argues it’s because he’s not used to Satoru’s body proportions. Sukuna realizes Yuta hasn’t adjusted to Satoru’s body yet, so he uses the opportunity to attack Satoru. Sukuna recalls Kenjaku’s words about Yuta’s Copy Cursed Technique.

He remembers Kenjaku telling him that Yuta needs Rika to ingest Yuta’s target body part to perform the said technique. Therefore, Sukuna deduces that Yuta can’t perform any Cursed Technique besides Limitless. After Yuta recalls a previous encounter he had with Satoru, he tries performing Satoru’s Hollow Purple technique but Sukuna prevents him from doing that.

Yuta wonders if Sukuna’s keeping his guard up because he fears Yuta can utilize other Cursed Techniques besides Limitless. Yuta throws a recorder Sukuna’s way and shouts “Blue!” Toge’s voice echoes out of the recorder, telling Sukuna not to move. We receive a shot of Toge, but no clarification if he performed this “Don’t Move” action in the present or past.

With Sukuna distracted, the chapter ends with Yuta performing Hollow Purple.

The Chapter Review

Jujutsu Kaisen is back after a long break. While the series’s artwork has improved, the storytelling grows dull and less exciting as chapters fly by. Although this battle contains more wit to supplement its brawn, one can’t help but wonder when Gege Akutami plans to wrap this arc up. From Toge’s sudden appearance to Yuta performing more tricks, we’re optimistic Sukuna’s reign will end soon.

At the same time, it’s nice seeing Yuta struggle to adjust to Satoru’s body. While his puppeteer-like stunt left many fans disappointed and others surprised, Yuta’s inability to utilize Satoru’s moves willfully makes this battle somewhat interesting and unpredictable.

Additionally, Sukuna is not much of a powerhouse in this fight, which is nice. Having him act weary toward the possibility of Yuta having more tricks up his sleeve adds some depth and intrigue to this battle. It’s nothing much, but it at least gives fans something interesting to observe.

All in all, this was a fine outing from Jujutsu Kaisen. Unfortunately, this arc’s dragging on for far too long, and many can’t help but question when we’ll move on to something else.
