Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 32
Chapter 260 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins with Yuji and Sukuna realizing Todo replaced his left hand with a Boogie Woogie Vibraslap device. This allows Todo to activate Boogie Woogie faster than normal. Also, this device allows Todo to switch places with Sukuna and Yuji swifter. Next, we learn Todo can select numerous Cursed Technique targets and expand their range.
He achieved this by entering a binding vow that limited the number of swaps per strike on the Vibraslap device. The narrator states Yuta helped Todo adjust his Cursed Technique, which is how he helped many folks, besides Choso and Yuji, escape Sukuna’s wrath. While combatting Todo and Yuji, Sukuna is concerned about Todo, because he might be tough to read.
Simultaneously, Sukuna argues Todo will likely perform his Boogie Woogie at maximum concentration. Although Sukuna feels he’s figured Todo out, he misreads the situation and gets hit by one of Yuji’s Black Flashes. Then, Sukuna stares at the battlefield’s clouds. The chapter closes with a shot of Satoru’s “ghost.”
The Chapter Review
There’s no denying Sukuna’s been on a war path since his fight with Satoru concluded. Countless Jujutsu Sorcerers of the strong and average variety challenged him and only managed to give him minor injuries. However, like any living organism, not all will retain the same stamina they had at their battle’s early stages. This chapter goes on to prove that point effectively.
Sukuna’s getting tired from his long battle with Yuji and others, despite him being a formidable adversary. From misreading situations to seeing a possible mirage of Satoru, it might be curtains for the esteemed “King of the Curses.” As with our previous coverage of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, seeing Todo and Yuji fight Sukuna carries mixed baggage.
On one hand, this fight provides long-time readers with a sense of nostalgia and joy. On the flip side, others will find this 2 Vs. 1 concept stale and unoriginal. Nevertheless, Gege Akutami, the series’s creator, at least gives Todo a slight upgrade via the Boogie Woogie Vibraslap device. This gives the “Todo and Yuji vs. Sukuna” battle a tiny layer of uniqueness.
All in all, this was another satisfying chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen to read. The artwork wasn’t all that stellar and the idea of having Todo and Yuji possibly defeat Sukuna may rub folks the wrong way. Nevertheless, we’re optimistic this arc will conclude on a great note.
