What does John do in Casablanca?

Reaching Casablanca, John meets with the manager of the Moroccan Continental, Sofia. He gives her his marker medallion – demanding that she send him in the direction of the Elder, the only individual not bound by the High Table.

Sofia takes John to Berranda who tells him that the only way to meet the Elder is to walk down the desert until complete exhaustion.

After a couple of days, John finally gets to meet the Elder after he collapses in the desert. When John states his situation, the Elder agrees to forgive him under two conditions – kill Winston and live under the rules of the High Table for good.

Consequently, John severs his ring finger and gives his wedding ring to the Elder as an expression of loyalty.

Meanwhile, the Adjudicator along with Zero and his henchmen confront Bowery King. As a penance for his aid of seven bullets to John, Bowery King is slashed seven times with a wakizashi.
