Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart – Season 1 Episode 11 Recap & Review

Episode 11

Episode 11 of Jack & Joker begins with Hoi, Tattoo and Aran trying to calm down an angry Jack. He never wants to see Joke again and storms off. The boys comfort Joke who cries. He is further distraught at seeing Toi Ting’s condition while Dr. Suthi does everything to save her.

Jack picks a fight at Boss’ HQ. He is outnumbered as he refuses to leave without seeing Boss. Finally, Boss arrives and gaslights him before Carbon knocks him out.

Meanwhile, Toi Ting is out of danger and Dr. Suthi will cover the expenses. A grateful Joke hugs him and cries. Suthi tells him to go home and return with his boyfriend but this turns the already sour mood somber.

Save and Hope bring Jack home to Grandma who shares that Toi Ting is out of danger. He doesn’t want to hear about Joke or see Save again. But Hope and Grandma tell him to give Save a chance as he was forced to work for Boss. Save is apologetic and promises to fix his mistakes.

That night, Jack cries while looking at Joke’s empty bed. As for Joke, he is welcomed home but he too is sad as he thinks of Jack.

The next day, Jack, Tattoo, Aran, Hoi, Save and Hope try to figure out their next plan of action. Save promises not to betray them again as he wants to save Hope. As for Aran, while he cares for his dad, he cannot stand to see his friends get hurt. The Four Horsemen have set a meeting and Jack comes up with an idea for which he needs Save.

Not wanting to stand idle, Tattoo, Aran, Hoi and Save decide to stop Boss from attending the Four Horsemen meeting. Step 1 is Hope’s plan – attack. They lose their nerve when they see Boss surrounded by several bodyguards. Step 2 is Hoi’s plan – block. On a one-way street, they block the road but Boss calls the cops who get Hoi arrested and the road free. Step 3 is Aran’s plan – call. Pretending to reconcile, he calls Boss who hangs up after saying he has no son.

Step 4 is Tattoo’s – dynamite. He had quickly attached a bomb to the car when it was blocked. But Aran refuses to kill his dad and they bicker till it’s too late as Boss reaches Lompran’s house. Outside, they see Rose creating a commotion as she wants her ring back. But Boss simply enters the house while Lompran will only invite her if she marries him and she is stuck outside.

Inside, the Four Horsemen are Boss who has replaced Rose’s father, the rude lady and  Mr. Pathapee. The fourth one happens to be Save who has “stolen” Lompran’s ring. By his side is Jack and we see the deal they have made with Lompran.

A flashback shows Jack reminding Lompran of the rewards he got for winning their game – leave Rose alone, leave Tattoo’s mom alone and for Jack to be treated as an equal. Jack wants to borrow Lompran’s ring in exchange for the equality clause to take down Boss. Lompran is just excited as this allows him to treat Jack as a dog.

At present, Boss is not deterred as they start the game – Monopoly. He is greedy and spends the majority of his money on the first few properties. But as the rest start catching up, he starts losing money in the form of tolls.

By the end of the game, Boss has to pay 100 million or give his last property, Suphanimit to Save. He gives the property and storms off. Outside, Rose is still waiting for him and he agrees to a deal. He will give her ring back but wants something in return.

Meanwhile, Joke is busy tending to his broken heart. He starts writing a book on 100 ways to thank someone from far away while looking at Jack’s handkerchief from when they first met. He goes to Grandma and gives her some money for taking care of him, and a cape for Toi Ting. A flashback shows him visiting Toi Ting and promising her that he will always care for her.

He also stitches a smiley face on Jack’s handkerchief and hopes Grandma can give it to him if he ever wonders about Joke. She wants them to reconcile but he blames himself for all the bad things that have happened in Jack’s life. They have a tearful parting as it seems that Jack has come home.

Nearby, we see Jack and Save after giving back Lompran’s ring. They get to keep Suphanimit and Save plans to take over from Boss. As he heads home, Boss’ men jump him. Hope spots them and tries to stop them but to no avail.

And it’s Carbon, not Jack who has arrived at his place. Joke hears the commotion and rushes in to see Carbon hurting Grandma. He reveals that he has come for Joke but Grandma puts up a fight. Emboldened, so does Joke but they are no match for Carbon.

Joke finds himself chained with a bomb to his neck at an abandoned factory along with Save and Rose. Boss shows up and declares they will be playing Hang Man since they love games and betrayals. Save threatens him that his friends will take him down but Boss shoots near him and points out that he is neither alone nor unarmed.

At the end of Jack & Joker Episode 11, Jack comes home to see the place in disarray and a passed-out Grandma. She wakes up and tells him to save Joke.

The Episode Review

Oh, the magical ring thing finally makes sense now. All Four Horsemen have a ring which is tied to their assets. By stealing Rose’s ring to avenge his parents, Boss now has her family’s power. But having lost all of it in the game, he will not be the one in debt should he give the ring back to Rose. So, why has he kidnapped her as well?

By the way, in classic penultimate episode fashion, Jack & Joker Episode 11 makes us feel all the feels with the constant angst between Jack and Joke, Toi Ting’s fate, and the gang feeling hopeless in the face of Boss’ savagery. There is also the case of Aran who still cares for his father even though Boss brutally disowns him.

But we love that the drama keeps up with its comic tones without undermining the seriousness of the episode. Of course, Grandma would be a fighter given that she is so fiery and nimble. And the boys’ desperate A, B, C, D planning was hilarious and while it acted as a filler, it also sketched out Aran’s character and integrated Hope’s role in the group.
