Iwájú – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

Tunde

Iwájú Episode 4 begins by displaying Tunde’s past. He was once a young lad with a big dream and attended an interview at Greenwood Tech. He arrives late for the interview and builds himself a pair of kangaroo boots to reach in time. Mrs. Usman is upset about his unpunctuality but is impressed by his skills and gives him the job.

Cutting to the present time, he gets a notification that Otin has gone offline in the middle of Lagos and begins to panic. He checks the footage and sees Uncle G driving Tola and Kole away. He also sees footage of Tola being put in a shady room. Immediately after that, he gets a call demanding 50 million for his daughter’s release. He quickly draws the symbol that appeared and leaves.

Meanwhile, Tola musters up some courage in the room. Bode then lectures her about her father and how selfish he is while praising himself. He also tells her that Kole betrayed her.

Kole runs to the car to check for Tola but doesn’t find her there. He finds Uncle G who is shocked to know Tola isn’t with him. Kole begs him to pick up his mother as the goons might target her. Meanwhile, a little girl finds Otin and picks him up. Otin begins to recharge on the watch. She accidentally drops her watch allowing Otin to stay connected and charge.

Kole takes his mother with them and then Uncle G drops him off to search for Tola. Unfortunately, Sunday spots him and begins to chase him. Meanwhile, Tunde seeks an old friend who is a police officer but gets refused any help.

Meanwhile, Tola has a nice time playing cards with Bode’s goons. She manipulates them into having pity on her and winning the game. Bode points it out and she instantly takes responsibility for her mistake. Bode is surprised to see it.

Running out of options, Tunde arrives at the spot with the money and gets a voicemail from Mrs. Usman demanding an improvised version of the lizard the next morning. He then gets a call from Bode demanding more money, a total of 250 million.

Kole runs into a wasteland trying to hide from Sunday, but Sunday eventually catches him. Just as Sunday is about to attack him, Otin arrives and saves Kole. Otin then chases Sunday and latches onto the car he runs away in at the end of Iwájú Episode 4.

The Episode Review

Iwájú Episode 4 reveals a part of Tunde’s past and how he became as successful as he is. It is revealed that he was quite a fun person before he began working at Greenwood Tech, but something changed him later. This is evident from his friend’s reaction and the flashback.

It seems that Mrs. Usman and the company had exerted pressure and created the man that he is today. Once upon a time he was in a similar position as Kole as he too came from humble beginnings and studied extremely hard. He too had plans for his mother once he became successful.

Tola is doing fine and even plays cards with the goons. Bode just seems to be a manipulative greedy man as he seems to be treating Tola fine. The episode also miraculously finds Otin back on the search after getting charged on a girl’s watch.
