Irma Vep is a show with a very long history. Starting with a French silent movie serial called The Vampires in 1916, one of their leaders was a woman named Irma Vep who, if you rearrange the letters, spell out the word “Vampire.”
In 1996, French director Olivier Assayas made a film called Irma Vep about the making of a new movie version of The Vampires. Part comedy, part satire of the film-industry the movie was a glitzy, intriguing affair; this TV mini-series essentially tracks that same journey, with more time to flesh out characters and subplots.
Like the Irma Vep film, Irma Vep tracks the difficulties involved in mounting a new version of The Vampires, through the eyes of Mira, an American movie star disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup.

Where Can I Watch Irma Vep?
Irma Vep is available to watch on the HBO channel and HBO Max. For those watching internationally, Irma Vep will premiere in the near future on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NowTV. At the time of writing though, there’s no word on the exact date that will occur.
Irma Vep Episode 3 Release Date
Irma Vep Episode 3 will drop on HBO Max Monday 20th June at approximately 9pm (ET). Subtitles should be available from launch too.
Episode 3 is titled “Dead Man’s Escape” and is expected to be around 54 minutes long. Also expect subtitles to be available from release.
