Apple TV’s stunning lineup has been the talk of the town. Still in its nascent stages, Apple’s streaming service is definitely turning heads. Every new show that they come up with gathers hype…and at times, the hype goes over the baseline. Viewers learned that as they begrudgingly finished the first season of Invasion, an Apple original that is now coming with its second season. While the premise – an alien invasion – is inherently an exciting one, the makers do everything possible to “not make it that way.”
Season 1 of Invasion should more appropriately be labelled as a traditional drama. It has all the trappings of being a good one too. However, Season 2 of Invasion is just around the corner. The makers have promised the steady buildup from the first season will have more tangible action. If that is indeed the case, perhaps hindsight could better serve the first season.
The new season sees a host of old characters reprising their roles, including Golshifteh Farahani and Shioli Kutsuna. Last season’s disappointments need to be washed away and we are certainly hopeful.

Where Can I Watch Invasion?
Invasion is an Apple original and will only be available to stream on Apple TV+ and its digital partners. This is an exclusive original series and given the platform’s global presence, can be seen from any other geography on Apple TV+ as well.
Invasion Season 2 Episode 2 Release Date
Invasion Season 2 Episode 2 will be released on Wednesday, August 30, at 9 pm ET/PT. For the new season, Apple has bucked its strategy of starting off with a three-episode premiere given the length of each episode. Expect the runtime to be roughly 55 minutes or even more, consistent with the timeframe of the previous season. Episode 2 of Invasion’s new season will be released with subtitles.
The new episode is titled “Chasing Ghosts”. We currently do not have any information on the plot for episode 2. But we will be covering the entire season with recaps and reviews for our readers. Be sure to read along!
How Many Episodes Will Invasion Have?
Invasion’s Season 2 has been commissioned for a total of 10 episodes. This is the same number as the previous season. So, after episode 2, we will have another 8 episodes to go that will follow a weekly release schedule, subject to any changes Apple might make in between.
What happened in Episode 1?
Episode 1 of Invasion’s new season begins on Day 121 of the Invasion. The alien ship that arrived on Earth at the end of last season, cloaked in the atmosphere, is wreaking havoc. The WDC (World Defence Coalition) is rallying together to fight the aliens. But humans are no closer to taking them out. The aliens have started terraforming which means that the world will soon become inhabitable for the people of Earth.
Mitsuki is taken by Nikhil Kapur’s men to the site of the first ship in the Amazon Forests. Kapur is the proprietor of Dharmax, the organization that is taking the lead in trying to communicate with the aliens. Mitsuki is asked to go into the ship and figure out how to interact with the aliens and what they want on Earth.
Meanwhile, Aneesha and the kids have resorted to scavenging. They are constantly on the move and are seen to barely escape a gas station owner when he catches them stealing. Aneesha and the kids are caught by the military when her identity is revealed to them.
But the Movement, a rebellion group fighting the aliens, breaks them out. Clark, their leader, is also in the truck and offers them safe shelter.
The episode ends on an optimistic note as Mitsuki successfully interacts with the alien force in the ship by playing David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”.
