Boss & Noeul talk about their latest Thai drama, The Boy Next World
The Boy Next World is finally here and with it, we welcome back Boss Chaikamon Sermsongwittaya and Noeul Nuttarat Tangwai who return after their explosive debut in Love In The Air. And this time, we get a fantasy to boot as The Boy Next World has everything from doppelgangers to parallel worlds that will have fans falling in love with BossNoeul all over again!
Helmed by none other than MAME who is known for some iconic Thai BLs, The Boy Next World is based on the novel of the same name and follows Phukan, a superstitious guy who has never experienced love. But when the cold guy from school, Cirrus suddenly approaches him after an accident, Phukan’s life turns upside down.
But it isn’t smooth sailing for them as Cirrus claims he is from a parallel world where they are in a relationship. Unsure what to believe, Phukan struggles with Cirrus’ hot and cold behaviour. And what has happened to the Cirrus of Phukan’s world?
Well, TheReviewGeek had a chance to talk to the main cast of The Boy Next World, Boss and Noeul as they chat about their challenges, working together a second time, and the characters of Phukan and Cirrus. In an exclusive interview with TheReviewGeek, Boss and Noeul also share their thoughts on Zomvivor, S2, future projects and more.
The series is barely out but fans believe you guys are the perfect cast for Cirrus and Phukan! Why do you think that is?
Boss: I feel deeply grateful to all the fans. I’m so happy that so many people love these two characters. Personally, I was both excited and a bit anxious because the characters are quite complex and very different from who I am. But I gave it my all and did my best.
Noeul: My heart feels so full knowing that so many people have been eagerly waiting for our series. I really want to live up to everyone’s expectations.
How are your roles in this series different from your previous series?
Boss: It’s different in terms of the characters and working with new techniques I’ve never tried before, like using CGI, action scenes, portraying multiple characters, and handling intense drama scenes.
Noeul: The script—it’s much more complex and challenging. Plus, the filming schedule was about twice as demanding.
We were all shocked by Cir’s plot twist at the end of the trailer. Without spoiling too much, is there any scene you can’t wait for fans to see?
Boss: I’d say every scene is a must-watch for fans because every event plays a crucial role in driving the entire story forward.
Noeul: Honestly, every scene. This series isn’t something you can just watch casually; you need to pay close attention because it’s packed with mysteries. I hope everyone will follow along and analyze the events as they unfold.
How was the experience while filming for The Boy Next World?
Boss: It was fun but also quite intense. There were scenes where I had to be out in the rain or do a lot of emotional scenes. For this series, we actually filmed in real rain, and it was quite challenging. The entire crew gave it their all, so I’d like to ask everyone to support this series once again.
Noeul: It was fun. It wasn’t just work—it felt like living life to the fullest. It’s become such a wonderful memory for me.
As actors, is there anything new you learned while working on this project?
Boss: The filming techniques and new camera angles were really exciting, like the scene where I wake up in the hospital or acting alongside my double. And of course, performing scenes in real rain added to the challenge.
Noeul: Patience and teamwork—those were key aspects during the production.
After Love in the Air, has it gotten easier working on your second series together? Or were there any fears?
Boss: Honestly, I was quite concerned about my character. Cirrus is such a cold and reserved person, and throughout the story, I couldn’t really bring much liveliness to him. That made me feel a bit worried at times.
Noeul: Working together this time felt much easier because we’ve grown more comfortable and familiar with each other.
What genre would you like to try next if you had a chance to work together again?
Boss: Mafia, gunfights—anything with a “bad boy” vibe.
Noeul: Action, horror, and thrillers.
Both of your shows have also been based on books. What kind of book would you wish to be turned into a live adaptation next?
Boss: Probably fantasy—something with vampires.
Noeul: Mafia-themed stories.
Boss, we are all waiting for Zomvivor! Everyone is so eager to see you in it, so could you give us a spoiler?
Boss: Filming has officially wrapped, and I believe it will be released this year. Honestly, I’d like everyone to wait and watch it all at once because this is another project we’ve put our hearts and souls into.
Noeul, you officially debuted your new persona, S2. Were you always interested in that type of gritty rap and hip-hop that is S2’s style?
Noeul: I’ve always loved it, but I’ve never really had the chance to try it seriously till now.
Well, we are super excited for The Boy Next World! Any last words for fans who have been waiting for you?
Boss: Please give your support to Cirrus, Phukan, and our series, The Boy Next World. Big thanks to P’May, the team at Me Mind Y, P’James, our director, and every crew member who worked so hard and gave their all for this series. I hope everyone believes in parallel worlds like we do. (Haha!) And don’t forget to check out the series’ OSTs—they fit the story perfectly!
Noeul: Thank you so much for waiting for our series! We’ve put our hearts into it, and we hope everyone enjoys and loves it as much as we do.

This is great! How did you connect with them? If you have another interview, would love to hear the origin stories of their mascots (baby chick and bunny). :)
Love this. They’re so different to each other, just like their characters. Great story!
