Interlaker dazzles here on their self-titled debut, a collection of anecdotes and insightful monologues describing the world and its mishaps. Love tries to rally enough of its power to create an unrelenting light, a blissful beam that shines brightly into rooms and halls.
The band has it all, though darkness does come through quickly at times, trying to steal the show. However, the act deters it enough to find morsels of hope. The music draws attention too, and it has so much melody, so much in terms of depth. Keeping things melodic, the outfit has studded their sound, arranging these wonderful segments of sonic austerity.
‘The Hunger’ starts the record off with a quick rush to the head. The vocal work by David Jakes is powerful, and the guitar work starts a wave, a pulsation that is hard not to be impressed by.
‘Call Out The Wolves’ grows and grows into a likeable track. The lyrical content is brilliant, poetic, and woven into the theme. The chorus breaks in such an emphatic fashion.
‘End Unknown’ takes on the monster. Every beat propels the song into contention. From the beginning, the track shows its quality, and the chorus, with those backing vocals, imprints a great moment.
Interlaker dazzles with this collection. They take melody and gift it with groove and verve while using their lyrical chops to tell a story.
